Carli, Vladimir, et al. "Trait-Aggressiveness and Impulsivity: Role of Psychological Resilience and Childhood Trauma in a Sample of Male Prisoners." Nordic Journal of Psychiatry, vol. 68, no. 1, Jan. 2014, pp. 8-17
This article was written by Carli Vladimir, who is a senior lecturer at Karolinska Institute. Carli acknowledges that some of the biggest challenges while trying to evaluate the human anger is trying to describe what role character and trait-like dimensions for example; aggressiveness and being impulsive play in inciting vehement behavior. The article is based on a sample of prisoners with the following aims; determine if trait-aggressiveness and being impulsive can be related with crime, medical or socio-demographic history variables and to detect if any of those traits mentioned above arose due to "early traumatic experiences and current resilience traits." The author used the "Brown-Goodwin Assessment for Lifetime History of Aggression (BGLHA) and the Barratt Impulsivity Scale (BIS)" on the sample of prisoners who had been selected. According to the results of the article impulsivity and aggressiveness are different, though related trait-like scopes of character, both exhibiting diverse relationships with pliability and they, therefore, impact psychiatric disorders differently (Carli, 16).
Greenwald, Ricky. Trauma and Juvenile Delinquency: Theory, Research, and Interventions. Routledge, 2014.This book is written by Ricky Greenwald who is a clinical psychologist. The book talks about the connection established between childhood trauma and juvenile crime. The book presents theoretical models that show the connection between trauma and the prevalence of antisocial behavior. The book goes into detail on the research made on young people and how the trauma they experience at childhood comes back to haunt them and it is reflected in their actions. Ricky also addresses ways of helping kids faced with this trauma, that is the therapeutic sessions that they can get in order to help them overcome being bluntly damaged by some of the trauma they have undergone. This book also examines the "effectiveness of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for boys with conduct problems, MASTER (Motivation-Adaptive Skills-Trauma Resolution) for teens with school-related problems, and CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) for juvenile delinquents with post-traumatic stress disorder" (Greenwald, 77).
