In my future working in a team, it will be of great importance to ensure that the group I lead has effective communication. To ensure that the group is efficiently communicating many strategies such as making sure that there are established rules so that everyone is informed of all what is expected of him or her in the meeting. Secondly, it is essential to be aware of group member's cultural differences because it can be hard to communicate between different cultures due to language and customs differences. However, with a clear understanding of the differences, then group members can easily communicate with each other utilizing a universal language.

How can you ensure that each team member understands what next steps are required to achieve the meeting's goals?

Also, it will be essential to make sure that every member understands the steps needed to achieve the meeting's goals. Among the simplest and most convenient way to make sure that every member is aware of the next objectives is through asking. It will be of great importance to make a call to every member so that I can explain to them on a personal level for better understanding. I would also make follow-ups severally so that to make sure that their projects are going on well and help them where need be. Finally, it will be of great importance to ensure that every member is aware of the group's objectives during the meeting.

What are the characteristics of effective teams?

Among the best characteristics of a highly effective team include each team member having emotional intelligence whereby the team possesses not only technical skills but also the emotional knowledge. The second characteristic is that a team needs to have a mix of introverts and extroverts who are doers and superior team players and this reduces the chances of disappointments in the group. The other characteristic would be the ability of the team members to share and understand their common goals and work towards achieving them.

A team can be affected by needs, roles and diversity in many ways as they can influence the team's output as well as how the different individuals in a group work together for the common goal. For instance, when on knows what is expected of him to do, he will plan his time and do it accurately without delaying other activities of the group. However, if members of the team understand their needs, roles as well as diversity well, then there will not be a significant difference that will occur as everyone is aware of what is expected of him or her.

What are components of group diversity?

There exist many components of group diversity such as cultural, personality, gender, and generational as well as religious elements. It is therefore crucial for an individual working in a team to understand and take diversity within the organization positively as it never lacks. This can be through taking advantage of the various aspects of diversity within the group to learn lessons that will help in making better-informed decisions within the group.
