The Israeli Palestinian conflict can be traced back to the early 20th century. The conflict however escalated after the world war and the Holocaust and also after the formation of the state of Israel in 1948. There are a number of causes which can be attributed to the conflict which international political persons have tried to intervene, George Bush being one of them. The causes of the war revolve around identity, history, religion, nationalism, and culture. Some of the most common causes of the conflict include ineffective government policies, external forces, media perception and propaganda, population demographics, and economic. Although the conflict has lasted for quite a long time, it can be solved if the right measures and interventions are taken.
Zionism is among the primary causes of the war between Palestine and Israel. The Jewish immigration into the Middle East and forming a Jewish state among the many Arab countries has caused unrest between the two nations. Secondly, both governments have made interventions - both grassroots and international which have not been effective. Most of the documented policies, for instance, are not practical and have received a public objection. Both the Oslo Accords and the Road Map for Peace have only escalated the war. The media has also played a role in the escalation of the war between Israel and Palestine. The media is a great source of information and especially the state of things. The media has, however, been telling one side of the story and leaving the other. Most of the things purported by the media is always propaganda on one side. This, therefore, implies that Israel, for instance, will retaliate while relying on information from the media and the same case applies to Palestine.
The Israeli Palestine war has also, to a greater extent been caused by economic reasons. During the migration and the settlement of the Jews in Palestine and after the independence of Israel, the Israelis began purchasing land from the absentee Palestine and this consequently led to the loss of most significant sources of economic growth in Palestine. In addition, the rates of charges in the two countries are different. Palestine's pay more for water than the Israelis. The economic gap between the two nations has therefore caused conflict over the past few years.
The two countries can take some interventions in resolving the conflict between them. First, Palestine has to recognize that Israel is a sovereign state and that the only thing that they can do, is to come to terms with them. Israel, on the other hand, needs to understand that more retaliation will only lead to an escalation of the conflict. Since most of the policies that the two nations have made have not been successful because of public opinion, then both nations need to first consult from the public before proceeding to create policies that are not practical. Lastly, seeking international assistance will play a significant role in resolving the conflict between the two nations. It is, however, important to note that when seeking the international support for assistance, the two nations should deal with people who are familiar with the entire conflict and the jurisdictions of the two nations. This approach will prevent lifting policies that have worked for other nations but concentrating on Israel and Palestine alone.
