This means that any woman identified to be the dark of the sonnets must be married with dark hair, complexion, and eyes. Shakespeare mentions in Sonnet 144 that she is her bad girl. According to this work the sentence, 'bad girl' could allude to her being a prostitute thus useful in her identification (Holderness 67).
