Introduction
An entrepreneur is an individual innovating, great ideas that recognize a need for developing a particular enterprise to fill a given void in the market and within the society. Also, entrepreneurs are mainly characterized to be imaginative, creative, and people with the thirst for work. Therefore, for one to become an entrepreneur, he or she needs to find their niche or industry, research the market, educate their self-more and finally build their business slowly until it succeeds in the current market. Hence the paper will discuss one of the great entrepreneurs of all time, and that is Son Masayoshi from the Softbank group by focusing on his background, accomplishments, and factors that make him a great entrepreneur.
Masayoshi is a Japanese philanthropist, investor, and technology entrepreneur who was born on 11th August 1957 in a town known as Tosu. He is an individual who attended the University of California in Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in Economics. Furthermore, he is the founder of the SOFTBANK Corp in Japan that is currently known as the SoftBank Group Corp in the year 1981. He has continued to serve as the CEO and chairman of the company to date. During his career, he has also continued to serve as the director of Alibaba Group Holding Limited, Yahoo Japan Corporation, and the Sprint Corporation. Aldo. He is the chairman of SoftBank Corp and Arm Limited.
After graduating from the University of California, he comes back to Japan. After one year a half, he decided to use his technological skills to patent and invent a particular device that sharpened business for one million dollars. He was an individual who was passionate about his work and had a vision. For example, before becoming very successful, he stood in his small office in front of his two workers. He said, "you have to listen to me because I am the president of this company, and in five years, I will have 75 million dollars sales, and I will be supplying to about 1000 dealers' outlets." He was much confidence, which made him become a great and successful entrepreneur today. His vision made him focus on the business he began, and, in a year and a half later, his dream started becoming real. Also, he was an individual who understood very well his product and how to convey it to the market. For an instant, he indicated that to succeed in such a market, he needs to supply knowledge and wisdom all over japan; hence, he specialized in the PC industry knowledge.
Also, He was very innovative since he decided to invent a new product that was not in the market. He then researched the product and made business plans. He wanted to select a unique business idea, and it was not in the market to bring about his creativity. Also, his experience while still in the university of developing a prototype that he used to sell prepared him to start Softbank. He is an individual who is experienced, has a vision, determined, and has a passion for what he does. His personality has driven him to succeed in the business world. Also, he possesses strengths such as his experience, the knowledge he gained while in university that made him start up the business.
Moreover, as an entrepreneur, he faced many challenges and perceived weaknesses such that during the start of business, he had ideas but did not have a fund where he had to take up a loan. He also faces stiff competition from other competitors such as Venture-backed Door dash. Finally, he faces the challenge of technological development. Technology keeps on changing. Hence, he needs to be up to date on the latest trends to stay on top of the game in his business.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Masayoshi Son is an individual who becomes an entrepreneur since he has his way of doing business. Especially for high-tech ventures. He is an individual who thinks and also acts as he thinks by having his own company, which he has succeeded to date.
