Search Process

I found this source valuable in addressing the topic of this research. Finding this source involved using the keywords related to the topic of research such as, "start up business", "Business management", "business plan" and "entrepreneurship". The use of EBSCOhost research database made this process fruitful. This is a powerful online reference system that is accessible through the internet. The EBSCOhost offered a variety of propriety from the full-text database and accessible databases from the leading providers of information. To maximize the results, I had to restrict my search years within the last five years. This is crucial in ensuring that the data is current and reflects the current views of researchers about the topic.

Discernment

I discarded some of the sources obtained during my search processes. One of them is, "A consideration of the roles of business intelligence and e-business in management and marketing decision making in knowledge-based and high-tech start-ups" by Hill & Scott (2004). While it is evident this source was from a business journal, it did not provide valuable information that relates to the management of the start-up businesses, nor how to write a business plan.

Evaluation

My primary rationale for the selection of this source was based on the validity and reliability of its content. This book offered a thorough overview of the topic. The quality check by the publisher, well-researched information, and inclusion of other references from other sources constitute the strength of this book. No noticeable weaknesses were observed.

Content Addressing the Users’ Need

This book presents a wide range of issues that are involved in entrepreneurship as well as the small industry. It also presents extensive coverage of planning and financing new ventures.

The search process for this order involved using the topic-related keywords to the ProQuest, which afterwards generates a wide range of the best journals, databases, e-book resources from one's favourite library's collection. To obtain this source, I used the keyword "start-up business plan" and "management". For reliability, the search was restricted to sources within a range of 5 years to ensure that the information obtained is up-to-date.

Discernment

The search process generated numerous sources, some of which were not important. A source like, "Analysis of internal barriers toward the growth of start-up business in Indonesia" by Awatara provided information regarding the establishment of the business. However, I did not find it necessary and appropriate because of its inappropriate content that did not answer our questions directly.

Evaluation

Additionally, the quality checked during the peer review process, and the list of references for future research makes this source valuable for this research.

Content of Addressing the Users’ Answer

The fascinating aspect of these sources is based on the fact that it directly addresses the topic under research. Specifically, the author provides insights into the use or application of project management in the establishment of the start-ups. Because the owners of the businesses will be people with disability, it would be essential to integrate the project management as part of the operation of the company. Ideally, the project management can tremendously help when it comes to the management of the aspects of the product development and testing, advertising and marketing, accounting and customer service.
