Introduction
Peer review concerns the analysis and the inferences from the articles, books or even texts presented. In this case, they are read and their sense after interpretation established by the reader. The reader employs quite elevated reading skills as well as a powerful mix with the background knowledge on the subject matter. It will lead to the efficient exhaustion of the implications of the presented materials, leading to their thorough analysis on their suitability to the given situations. The reader will, after carefully reading the material, be able to deduce its practical applicability to the real-life situations and use one's own opinions and perspectives to critique the given piece. Here, the reader will analyze such factors as the advantages and disadvantages of the materials, their strengths and weaknesses, what is preferred about the presented piece, the gaps in the body of knowledge of the piece, the likely additions on the piece suggested by the reader. Also, the level of the awareness of the research or the article on the existing body of knowledge in the same field, the areas that need improvement in respect to the document, as well as the recommendations regarding the given piece (Subramanian, R. 2012). In the paper, discussed is the peer review in the article titled '' Identifying Bank Frauds Using CRISP-DM and Decision Trees.'' They are as presented in the subsequent paragraphs.
First, there is an opinion concerning the journal at hand. The journal has a clear presentation and exhaustion of the subject matter discussed therein. The title of the journal is the '' Identifying Bank Frauds Using CRISP-DM and Decision Trees'' and is presented to the International Journal of computer science and information technology. It addresses the issues and methods that could be used in the prevention and even the rooting out of the menace involving bank frauds. Here, the characteristics of the Decision tree are well covered, as well as the functioning mechanism of such a system, the technology which aids in the minimization of bank frauds. Also discussed in the piece are the modes of operation of the management model named CRISP - DM which facilitates the implementation of the above technology. It hence achieves the required goal of maintaining an unobstructed flow of the bank transactions in the form of trees and hence enabling easy tracking of the source of any possible mishap in the event it occurs. They thus effectively manage the welfare of the banks and keeping bank frauds at bay. The work is therefore comprehensive and provides detailed and informative descriptions on the working of the technology used in establishing bank frauds more effectively, hence contributing to the safety of the bank cash. Also, the journal is quite comprehensive since it includes other information surrounding the subject matter, therefore providing additional information on the subject matter. Thus I am enthusiastic about the journal and according to my views; it works for me in education and practicality.
Additionally, the journal is an original piece of work that is deemed to provide more information, hence adding to the existing body of knowledge in the field. It is because of the well-exhausted details on the characteristics of the Decision Tree, its mode of working in conjunction with the management model of data mining (CRISP-DM Kipling, R. 2014). Also, there is the comprehensive coverage of the related works hence informing on the more on the bank frauds as well as their preventive measures, together with the benefits of performing such undertakings of bank frauds prevention. Also, presented are the methods used in building more functional Decision Trees, hence broadening the body of knowledge in such a field.
The author of the topic has exhibited adequate knowledge about the topic in the sense that he has on all the areas that concern the operations of the Decision Tree technology in the bank fraud detection and prevention. He has systematically exhausted on the topical information as well as the additional information related to the subject area, hence comprehensively touching on the topic. The work hence shows the awareness of the existing research and methodology. The literature review is also complete since all the steps used in the relay of information on the subject area are followed until the conclusion of the discussions in a nutshell.
Conclusion
Appealing elements in the paper are the information regarding the implementation of the CRISP-DM, Decision Trees, and their characteristics and their methods of preparation. There are also particular strengths and merits of the journal in the presentation of its contents. They include the clear exhaustion on the operations of CRISP-DM in its step by step process flow and the adequate coverage of data understanding, modelling and Decision Tree parts and methods of representation. Its weakness is the coverage of the related work more precisely as to lack exhaustive information. The specific sections that need improvement are thus the related works section. It needs the addition of further details to boost understanding. Recommended for the paper is the addition of more explanations on the CRISP-DM part and related works part. Also, recommended is the further simplification of the Decision Tree structure.
