Introduction
Anh Thu Le's nutrient shows varying results as far as dietary compliance is concerned with the outlined plan. An analysis of the report indicates that Anh's daily eating habits against the nutritional program at a rate of 85.77%, leaving food requirements requiring no regulations and those whose consumption decreased sharing the remaining 14.23%. The report outlines the nutritional shortcomings that need adjustments
Nutrients
Nutrition-wise, there are dietary components that required certain thresholds over the 5-day period of the nutritional plan. The status of Anh's compliance with the food nutrients that needed determined limits stood at 44.44%. At 16.67% were the dietary components of the plan that fell below the set targets while 27.78% were the nutritional items that needed no daily marks.
Calorie, dietary fiber, and linoleic acid intake were way below the daily target with deficits of 763, 14 and 8 respectively. However, the consumption of saturated intake must go down to lower calories considering the side effects it comes along with. The use of too much saturated fat lead to obesity, cardiovascular diseases, osteoarthritis and cognitive impairment, "American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine."
Minerals
Anh didn't meet 66.67% of the daily dietary requirements. This implies that the performance was only 33.33%. Calcium, Potassium, Copper and Iron consumption didn't fit the daily nutritional needs. Calcium and Potassium regulate critical biological and biochemical processes in human cells and system such as glomerular filtration. Their deficiency can lead to kidney dysfunction, and thus, consumption of beans, peas, and spinach is necessary to stabilize their concentration in the body. The duo plays the role of maintaining full functionality of the kidneys. Iron is very instrumental in blood transport in man and its deficiency results in anemia. It's advisable that Anh consumes more dairy products alongside whole grains to increase blood formation.
Zinc is a mineral that helps in the breakdown of carbohydrates, cell multiplication, and growth as well as healing of wounds. The addition of cereals, beans, nuts, and seafood is necessary for the supply of zinc to body cells.
Vitamins
Compliance was extremely poor as far as daily consumption of vitamins is concerned. Food containing vitamins composed only 8% of the 5-day dietary plan for vitamins. A 92% failure raises a red flag and measures to make up for this is necessary. While Riboflavin is vital for metabolism, vitamin D and C are required in teeth and bone formation and antioxidation respectively (Palermo, 2014). Therefore, it's essential that Anh adds milk, oranges and bask in the sun as a supplement to the deficiency. According to Becker, Wulf et al. (2014), lack of vitamins leads to fatal diseases that can possibly claim lives. Among them are Pellagra, Beri Beri, Rickets, Scurvy, Anaemia, and Kwashiorkor. Mineral uptake is, therefore, necessary. Almonds, lentils, and beef are required for vitamin E, folate and riboflavin respectively. Folate deficiency results in heart palpitations, megaloblastic anemia, headaches and sore tongue.
Additional whole grains and legumes into the diet are necessary in the intake to elevate thiamine levels to curb beriberi, a disease that can possibly cause Brain diseases such as Wernicke's encephalopathy.
To avoid fatty liver and Hemorrhagic Kidney Necrosis that result from choline deficiency, Anh should consider increasing consumption of rice, pasta, egg-based foods. Additionally, choline is necessary for signaling in cells, transmission of nerve impulses, metabolism, and transportation of lipids as well as acting as a source of methyl groups.
