Plato was a philosopher, and he is referred to as a figure towards the coming up with various philosophies. He invented both the dialectic as well as the written philosophy. He gave so much concentration on how he wanted the philosophy to be viewed by the people. Plato developed notions related to philosophy which viewed the world as a continuous flux, and they were also meant to see the world as a moral sphere, the soul of immorality and as well as the real being was considered to be just as an appearance. Plato had a very great impact on the culture of the westerns. Plato initiates ethics, and he thinks that knowledge is required for there to be happiness and as well as virtue. Platos epistemology cannot be separated from his ethics. In Platos epistemology, he tries to analyze what makes ones to eventually have the knowledge and as well as what is considered to be awareness in real life. He examines the logics, the beliefs of people and as well as the language.
In Plato's, The Allegory of the cave he did this work so as to be able to know what effect was brought up by education and also the impact that education had on our nature if it was not acquired by the people. He does this by describing those people who lived in a cave as prisoners, and in their entire lives, they were chained to the wall. These prisoners would tend to give names to the shadows that they saw on the walls of the cave, the shadows, in turn, acted as a reality to them but little did they know that those shadows were not real. Before the prisoners broke their chains, they believed that they lived a good life not until the prisoners got a chance to get out of the cave and know that they lived a life of lies. Plato views the human condition as is bound to his senses for whatever impressions he/she want. It can be referred to Platos Allegory of the cave when he says just like the fire that was being used in the prisoner's cave so as to reflect the shadows they saw. He says that human beings are not in a condition to be able to break themselves from the phenomena of the reality nor from the human condition just like in the Allegory of the cave whereby the prisoners were not in a situation to free themselves from the chains (Plato & Tantor Media, 2011).
It is due to lack of knowledge that made the prisoners believe that the sound they heard while in the cave came from the shadows that they saw on the walls. It is because they were not in a position to see anyone yet people were passing but they could only see the shadows of the objects that they were carrying. After one prisoner had managed to be free, he felt the pain of facing the reality he would feel pain in the eyes and turn back to what he was used to the viewing of the shadows as that caused him no pain. It helps in showing that Plato through this article set the philosophical tradition of that human beings do not want to face reality and want to stay in their comfort zone, but this is mostly caused by the lack of knowledge. After the prisoner met reality and gained experience, he stopped viewing the shadows as the reality and in turn now started to see the things and people themselves.
According to Plato he considered the change in the physical world as weak and lacked originality. He saw that justice was so hard to get due to the high rate of corruption that was being experienced. Through this, we see that Plato initiated the philosophical tradition that people are so much unwilling to know the truth and also to gain knowledge. The cave helps to understand the human nature and also acts as a symbol of the corruption that is experienced in the political era.
In a non-moral sense as per the Truth and Lies, it mostly tends to deal with the questions that are related to the nature of a language as well as the reality of it. He believes that some of the non-moral truths will tend to be an opposing force despite being gotten from their origin. According Nietzsches people will be in search of the non- moral truths so as they can be in a position to survive. People will be so moralized so that they can use values that serve a particular purpose rather than for the benefit of their lives. He believes that the truth will lead people into making errors (Nietzsche, 2012).
Nietzsche's tries to critique the arguments that are related towards gaining the truth or even the concepts that are related to it, which is a contradiction to that of Platos. He argues that metaphors do not necessarily lead a person to the reality. Nietzsche believes that the people will quickly forget a particular metaphor despite being them who came up with it and that they do not reflect the reality. In his article, he says that "A mobile army of metaphors and as well as metonyms will relate to a sum of human relations that have already been enhanced and viewed as rhetorical, he sees the truth as illusions which people forget that its what they are. He gives an example of coins, and the pictures of them have faded away, and hence they can only be considered as metals, not as coins.
He tends to interpret that knowledge acted as a preservation towards an individual. The experience and information tend to deceive a person about the value of existence. He believes that once a person has a vast knowledge, he tends to live a life of lies which is contrary to Plato's Allegory of the cave.
