A Management Information System is a comprehensive database of company information programmed and organized to produce regular operations reports in every management level. Technology is the application of data and information in the utilization, design, and production of services and goods, and in organizing human activities in a business environment (Vos, 2015). It can be tangible or intangible. Substantial technology includes models, blueprints, and prototypes, while intangible could be training, consultancy and problem-solving. Tech can also be high with all systems almost fully automated in an organization, intermediate where there is semi-automation with medium level operations and low where the technology is highly labor intensive.

Technology can also be defined as nomenclatures, processes, and principles involving the application of science, and are useful for society promotion, together with good compensation to the technology specialists (Kung, 2013). A principle is a comprehensive doctrine or assumption whereas a process is a method or art of accomplishing a task. Nomenclature is the process or act of naming and application of science is the use of scientific skills to accomplish a specific assignment or task. According to this definition, technology must have the four components, should be useful to the society and must provide compensation to its operators.

According to me technology is fulfilling and addressing the human purpose. It is, therefore, a means used in the fulfillment and it can be a method, device or process. It could be complicated, material or nonmaterial. Technology is, therefore, anything that is used by people towards fulfilling their wants and addressing their purpose. It ranges from simple technologies such as having a simple model to sophisticated ones involving the use of management systems. Some technologies require high levels of specialization while others are simple and can be used without much skill.

MIS is a big and comprehensive infrastructure which fully addresses technology needs. It brings together people, processes, and equipment in business organizations and enables smooth execution of duties (Willcocks, 2013). It also monitors processes by generating reports at every management level. Through this, it has come in to address the technology needs and making work easier by placing all the business operations on one platform. It is also a scientific process, improves the society and provides compensation for its specialists. It has thus, addressed all technology requirement and has made business operations easier and faster, which saves time and resources.

Introduction

IT deals with the management and processing of organizational data, has enabled organizations to store and manage their information safely. IT is also a scientific process which benefits both specialists and the society. It addresses technology as it allows the use of available information in the production of goods and services and helps in organizing the human activities in organizations. It is an important technology as it provides data useful in all business processes and operations in all levels of management.
