Utopian fiction is a type of narrative that often occurs in an ideal world or within a perfect society. Utopian fictions are usually set, in line with the ethos and diverse philosophies (Green). However, some are characterized by conflict and other negative occurrences found in present-day reality. However, these fictions often conjure perfect societies with superpowers, advancements, and enhanced form of real-life that improves such existing problems. Utopian fiction stories can either be feminist utopias where men and women are equal, ecological utopia fictions where there are perfect climatic conditions that do not face the present-time crisis. Additionally, they can also technological utopia involving much more advanced transportation, robotics, computing that are not present in the current world (Kendal). They can also be economic utopias, religious utopia, scientific utopians, or a combination of diverse concepts. Below is my short utopian fiction story regarding two ladies who become friends in unimaginable circumstances. Bianca and Vanessa met in an unlikely circumstance when Bianca's car had some mechanical problems, and Vanessa offered to help her by fixing the car in a snap by using her mysterious superpowers.
The Healer
I was very terrified unable to bring my car to a halt veering my way around the third truck. My efforts to brake were futile, the more I made an effort to brake, somehow my car accelerated even more. I screeched as I nearly smashed on pedestrians walking on their footways, wrenching my wheel as fast I could to avoid hitting them. Having no alternatives, and having lost control, I drove the car off the roadside slowing down with the help of the road curbs. The car finally came to a stop after banging down the brake pedal as hard as I could. I was letting out a very shaky deep breath resting my head on and holding tightly the steering wheel. At this moment, I was sweating all over, as beads of sweat drizzled down my blonde face.
"Are you really fine?" A lady exclaimed. I could hardly hear what she was saying and see her through the window. However, I could feel she was around. She knocked the valence window gently causing me to wince in surprise and pain due to the bruises on my head I got when I banged my head on the door window as a result of sudden braking. "What happened?"
"Uh...Um, I don't understand what is wrong with my car, I got out of control, and I could not do anything to prevent this. Immediately with her help, I got out of the car as my whole body trembled overwhelmingly. She looked at me with one of the best smiles I have never seen anywhere. She stared at me for some time, fixated on her astonishing beauty, I admired her dark chocolate curls that simply fell around her V-shaped face and surge down her back. Her piercing blue eyes and perfect smile were very astonishing that anyone would be deeply and fully engrossed in. Life seemed to be very easy an effortlessly, and her beauty seemed never to falter.
My car was not the problem, I was just one of the terrible drivers around the town.
"Mmmmmh...I see..." She nodded seemingly to have a clear comprehension of what exactly was happening. Determined to begin my journey and get out of the site, I entered my car and started the engine. However, the car shook and lost its engine power. The engine was off, and my second attempt to start it was in vain. The lady came close and asked me if I could let her have a look at the car engine. Out of confusion, I agreed. She immediately went over to my car hood, opened it, and she went over the battery outlet. She closed her eyes and gently placed her hands on the top of the battery outlet and took a deep breath. I did not believe what I saw with my eyes, her hand glowed brightly, and a deep clear ringing was discharged from the glow.
"What are you doing?" I asked curiously with the intent to know what was happening.
"Repairing your car," she replied while her eyes still closed. When the glow faded away, she then took off her hands from the battery outlet. "Wow, I think it is done now, it should be good to perfectly work." She said as she smiled at me.
"Uh...Oh! Well...thanks so much!" I declared as I entered the car to start the engine. However, as I was about to enter the car, she came close enough putting her hand on my shoulder.her touch alone sent a bussing sensation in my body.
"Oh! Am sorry for that, I just wanted to ask if you could allow me to have a driving test to see how it works now, and what about taking you to my destination, the ideal universe where everyone wishes to stay, how does that sound?" She smiled at me and talked softly calming all my antecedent anxieties.
"Yeah...Yeah, sure, it is okay."
The ride was smooth and silent, it as such a perfect drive I wish I could do myself.
"What is your name?" The lady asked with a melodious voice
"Bianca, you?" I replied
"Vanessa." She replied smiling, her look sent me to the world of fantasies, wondering where she might have come from.
Vanessa stopped the car over beside a field that was surrounded by evergreens and immediately got out of the car.
"Why did we stop?" I asked.
"Come over, I would like to show you how I repaired your car." She said as she comes close, leaning much closer such that our shoulders were touching.
"Are you serious, seriously, like you want to show me how to do the glowing stuff?" I asked.
"Yeah, sure, that's exactly what I want to show you...well, I was taught how to do it by my parents when I was still an infant. But generally, it is something that anyone can learn how to do. It is all about sensing dissonance in the objects you are healing. Just like in your car, I sensed some negative energy," Vanessa's hands began to glow as she explained to me. "Essentially, your main objective is to identify the dissonance with your feelings and impose your positive energy to heal it."
She explained passionately and seemed to be proud of her ability, though everything seemed so strange to me. I did not fully comprehend what she said or imagined I could do the same.
"With this ability, one can identify and heal not only objects but every infection and disease in your body," she continued. She came close and put one of her hands on my shoulder. "I can help heal your cervical cancer."
"What? Wait, how did you know that I am suffering cancer?" I gasped, surprised, not knowing what else to say.
"Well, just like I told you, I can sense unhealthy energies from you, and I can also identify any form of illness you have in your body," Vanessa responded in a small laugh.
She went further to explain to me that where she comes from was very distinctive from my residence, they had advanced technologies, medical advancements, self transportation abilities, social harmony, and people could live long of up to nine hundred years.
"In my town, everyone is delighted, there is no injustice, poverty, sorrow, or sickness of any kind, and everything seemed to be free and universal. However, one of our crews was sent to fix our energy machine that generates energy that serves the entire city, but he never returned." Vanessa explained.
I felt very alive than never before when she touched me, and in no time, the pain was gone. It was already late, but I did not want to leave yet, I let out incense sign.
"Vanessa, I am sorry, I am seeing it is getting late, and I have to go?"
"It is all right, it was nice meeting you, and I hope to see you again someday." She said as we reach for each other's hands, holding for some time before letting go.
"We will surely meet again." I gave her a warm smile and entered my car.
As I watched her leave, there was a sudden glowing bright light all around her, and she disappeared, nowhere to be seen. It was like quantum teleportation. I was mesmerized as I headed home.
