Introduction
IMINT collection sensors typically employ the use of imagery analysis where actual images of the objects are reproduced using a technological technique such as visual photography. In this case study, the US military can use the IMINT technique of visual photography sensors to capture images of the terrain, human terrain, and infrastructural categories that would assist in the provision of the stated PIRs (Phythian, 2013). The information can both be collected in the form of hard copy (films) and soft copy, using the digital image signals, like lasers and IR sensors. Imagery Intelligence is useful, because the US military can easily capture all the physical features, and this would assist them in making decisions, before setting their base in Star Archipelago, as suggested by the Chiefs.
HUMINT
Human intelligence involves the use of humans as the key data sources. HUMINT was majorly used before the era of rapid growth in technology but has remained to act as the major data collection type by most intelligence organizations around the world. In the position of the collection planner, I would utilize the humans using administered questionnaires and interviews to gather their knowledge and ideas concerning the existence, location, and domination of the maiden military in different islands. HUMINT can be in the form of overt, sensitive, or clandestine events (Phythian, 2013). To use overt HUMINT collectors, US military attaches and members from the official organizations may assist with the process. They may get information from unclassified publications and the conference materials. Sensitive HUMINT collectors involve the same mechanism as those of Overt, but the activities are controlled by a sponsor who must get protected from disclosure (Gruszczak, 2016). This will ensure that the maidens do not have any knowledge of the ongoing data collection activities. Finally, clandestine HUMINT may involve the use of specific agents in Archipelago, such as the marine commander who have volunteered to offer secret crucial information to the US military.
ELINT
Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) data collection technique is one of the branches of signals intelligence (SIGINT), but it extensively uses the communication signals provided by the telemetry such as satellites, missiles detectors, and the sensors (Phythian, 2013). The electronic intelligence sensors can be used to determine the enemy intentions, locations, and strength to depict show the appropriate PIRs. One of its advantages is that US military agencies can keenly monitor the movement operations and threats of the maidens due to the advanced detectors and sensors that these electronic gadgets have.
COMINT
Communication Intelligence (COMIT), is another branch of (SIGINT), which uses the communication signals to convey information about the enemies such as their movement history. In this aspect, elements such as voice notes, text messages, email, and formal chatting can be used between the US military and the joint chiefs or the Archipelago's military commander to convey any updates about the maiden military (Phythian, 2013). The information is usually vital, although other modern data collection types such as (ELINT) and (MASINT) may be used to find the reliability of the collected data.
OSINT
Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) primarily uses the available information to collect data concerning various PIRs (Phythian, 2013). The available piece of information may be available, from secondary resources such as books, articles, and journals. In this case, the US military can similarly father information on the human terrain, infrastructure, environmental and marine conditions by using the available geographical knowledge from reports and findings, to make appropriate decisions, before settling on the land of Star Archipelago.
CYBERINT
Cyber Intelligence (CYBERINT), is usually used by military agencies to predetermine the occurrence of risks (Phythian, 2013). Prior identification or detection of risks is important, because, appropriate mitigation strategies can be used to promote the level of preparedness to the suspected attack, hence reduce the potential losses and harms after the attack. The US military can use the CYBERINT detectors to help them in the process of fighting the maidens in Star Archipelago. using CYBERINT detectors would mean that US military agencies would be able to fight and raid the locations of the maidens using the information collected by other types, but prevent any possible revenge by the maidens by easily detecting their intentions and logistics.
MASINT
MASINT refers to the various scientific and technical methods of acquiring information, that usually involves the usage of quantitative and qualitative analysis to determine the legitimacy of certain data, and also to gauge the relationship between the results found. Quantitatively, questionnaires and interviews can be utilized by the US military (HUMINT) but later perform statistical analysis using the MASINT technique to get better meanings and understanding of the PIR or any other set of collected information through analysis (Phythian, 2013). For example, Radar intelligence (RADINT) is a type of MASINT, which can be used to determine the PIR stated in on the weather and climate category.
