Introduction
The urinary tract and the reproductive systems share some of the organs. However, organs are used for different purposes. The urinary tract emphasizes the removal of urine from the body by dissolving some of the wastes in water and released as urine. A definition of the loop diuretic it's functioning on the nephron and the mechanism of action of a loop diuretic. In addition, the similarities of the male and female reproductive systems in various perspectives are addressed in the paper.
The Loop Diuretic
Diuretics are types of drugs that increase urine volume, also known as water pills. They treat a variety of conditions, for instance, high blood pressure, glaucoma, and edema. They help rid once the body of salt (sodium bicarbonate) and water. Most of them work by making kidney release sodium into the urine; the sodium then takes water with it from the blood; this decreases the amount of fluid flowing through the blood vessels resulting in a reduction in pressure in the walls of the blood vessels (Ronco & Chawla, 2019). The loop diuretic affects how the kidney regulates water in the body. When one takes a diuretic, the medication moves to the kidney, in the nephron, there are small loops known as Loop of Henle that regulate sodium intake the medication signals sodium-potassium pump in the kidney to stop taking in sodium (Ronco & Chawla, 2019). The sodium which is released creates a difference in osmotic pressure, making water to move to nephron hence more water and production of more urine. The diuretic has a one notable side effect; it leads to the flashing out of minerals like calcium potassium and magnesium; this is why potassium can be a side effect.
Similarities in Human Male and Female Reproductive Systems
The male and female reproductive systems of human beings have some notable similarities. They also have myriad of differences; their similarities begin right from their formation during embryonic development. Both female and male organs develop or originate from the same embryonic tissue, meaning they are homologous (Johnson, 2018). The systems have gonads male have testes females have ovaries that produce gametes. Testes produce spermatozoa while ovaries produce ovum. The reproductive systems both experience maturation of organs which becomes functional at puberty (Johnson, 2018). They both rely on mitosis and may meiosis to produce gametes. They both have ducts and tubes that transport ovum and spermatozoa from the point of production to where they are required e, g they both have accessory gland and organs which secret fluids which help in lubrication during coitus and mitigating some other effects during the same (Johnson, 2018). Male secretory glands such as prostate gland and seminal vesicle produce a secretion that mixes with the spermatozoa before ejaculation, and bulbourethral glands produce an alkaline lubricant to lubricate penis before coitus, both respond to follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH).Conclusion
In conclusion, various features enhance the functioning of the human reproductive systems. However, the reproductive and the urinary tract share some structures which are used for different purposes for each system. The loop diuretic and the functions in various ways by working on the nephron. The male and female reproductive systems provide information on the similarities.
