Mass media has an outstanding way of influencing the society and the entire country at large. Media such as the magazines, local dailies or the newspapers, radio, televisions the social media platforms have the capability to come up with their own conclusions when giving out reports on the current events. This power that is possessed by the media is very essential for both the government and the opposition. From the research that has been undertaken, it has been found out that mass media have a direct influence on the different political parties. The media stations have been found only to focus on the interest of the political parties during political rallies.

How mass media report events of politics is much difficult to conflict. Through their aims, mass media are mostly grouped as the force of connection in the contemporary democracy. Mass media has got negative influence in the politics thus causing the problem with democracy. So, when it comes to issues that are concerned with the state and the government offices, the media tries as much as possible not to expose the bad side of the events but instead focus on the better side. This they do to protect their jobs. In addition, the media is expected to provide a free and democratic system, of late it has failed to do so instead they serve the preferred purpose as it gives biased and impartial information sources. Otherwise, the media has become in a way only to serve the agendas of the influential politicians.

For instance, one of the highly popular news stations such as the fox, Aljazeera and CNN are generally comprehending to favor democratic party and the liberal side of the political reign. If a politician moves to a macro media broadcasting, most of what general citizen get to hear or see on the screen, therefore holding an important way to influence public views by making the speaker or broadcaster to pursue the population on a given statute law. Whereas the influence of media does not necessarily focus only on political position but also covers a lot of news or reports. They use different media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook twitter to address their issues. Several numbers of political candidates uses the money to identify their supporters, building a political environment for them and to come up with several coalitions. Although social media has been keeping track of records for generating population engagement. it has been proven too challenging to sustain this.

For example, in the USA the political parties had organized for platforms that they could communicate with the citizens of America by showing them what they tend to achieve should they be elected.

Then the media houses have come up with debates in which the politicians are able to dialogue with the voters. They provide an opportunity o the voters who were initially passive participants y engaging them in open dialogues through social media. E.g. during the former president of the united states of America Barrack Obama campaigns, he came up with an idea of active participation of the people in the preparation of the election period. This is still fresh in the minds of the people of that country and they still to date try to emulate what Obama started.

Finally, social media has eased the access to current information, as the citizens can use their smartphones to look for the developments. This they can get at all the times irrespective of where they are.
