Introduction
The Middle East is a transcontinental region that lies in the Western Asia, Egypt, and Turkey. It is a characteristic geographical area whereby environmental factors such as politics, the level of technology, cultural development and growth, and the economic structure determines the livability of a majority of the regional sections. Undoubtedly, political stability plays a critical role in defining the way different countries relate and how the people co-exist. From a socio-political perspective of the Middle Eastern territories, emergent and persistent issues within the environment prolifically contribute to the problem-solving credibility to address some of the issues that deter the people from enjoying life to their fullest possible levels. For instance, the politically-enhanced issues, which jeopardize the acquisition of desired relationships between countries and groups of people make it difficult to engage key resources that assure improvements and societal growth toward the betterment of the overall performances. It is prudent to inform and seek viable solutions to the persistent issues in the Middle Eastern society that entirely spring from political factors and policies.
To shed more light on the prevalent issues that characterize the Middle East owing to the traits of its regional political system, this paper highlights six significant problems that are common amongst most countries within the area. The primary objective of the paper is to identify and highlight how specific issues in the Middle East could be addressed to depict an outcome-dependent problem-solving approach that guaranteed a betterment of the political system from its functional impacts on lives and people's progress. Notably, a majority of the political issues that are common in the Middle East spring from deterrence from the logical application of skills and knowledge that could enable wise decision-making throughout the legislation and policymaking. Also, it is possible to revamp laws and beliefs that together shape the relationships between influential stakeholders within the Middle Eastern region (Makdisi, 2017).
One of the major issues that characterize the Middle East politics is the difference in the relationship between members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and other countries that lie within the same transcontinental region. Member countries of the GCC include the main Arabic and Persian Gulf sovereign states such as Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The member countries correlate according to a similar political movement to enhance uniform response to economic, social, and political issues. The relation between the GCC member states is depicted through a common market for goods and services, customs union, and a common currency. The regional policies that govern the GCC are designed to enable steady growth for all the members depending on the leveraged laws and conditions in favor of the monarchical goals and objectives that are pursued by all the governments that are involved (Makdisi, 2017).
On the other hand, there is a harsh relationship between GCC members and the independent countries within the Middle East that deal with specific political issues and goals individually. For instance, Iraq is faced with a high degree of prejudice when it comes to political, social, and economic matters that call for collaborative efforts from the responsible authorities to enable effective goal attainment and betterment of the living standards for all the citizens (Cordesman, 2016). As a result, it is easier to pursue entrepreneurial goals at the state level while operating under the GCC as compared to independently functional groups of people and countries. The disparity in access to support and political enlighten from other countries make it difficult to fight some of the prevalent issues that deteriorate the workability of the essential parts of the Middle East economy and livability (Cordesman, 2016).
The problem of economic segregation and disparity between the members of the GCC and those countries that do not belong in the society such as Yemen despite lying in the same transcontinental region can be solved by political changes whereby fair systems such as democracy should be opted for other than the current monarchical leadership systems. Glausiusz (2018) postulates that these political systems in the GCC and other related countries hinder the exercise of equal freedom through access to the personal rights and privileges. Notably, such fair political systems allow for equal rights to executive and decision-making positions. For example, instead of sustaining the current difficulty in trading between Yemen and Qatar, democratic systems could pave the way for hybridized leadership styles that befit the need for leveraging and addressing all the needs of the Middle East society (Glausiusz, 2018).
The ownership rights of sovereign lands in the Middle East follow the premise that one's claimable property is the nine-tenths of the law. However, the historical concepts behind the emergence and existence of sovereign land accounts. Notably, a majority of the Middle Eastern sovereign states are characterized by the Islamic religion (Glausiusz, 2018). On the other hand, the Christian Bible story shows that Israel was purposely selected and granted to man by God as an homage. There are preventable challenges that make it more difficult for non-Israelites or Muslims to acquire land in Israel (Glausiusz, 2018).
Similarly, controversial stories have sprung up among different Islamic societies in advocacy for the notion that Israelites are purely hypocritical as they cling on non-scientifically proven facts to mistakenly own land in the Middle East. The residents and its sovereignty are regarded as outcasts of the Middle Eastern cultures and beliefs (Glausiusz, 2018). As a country, Israel is also torn in strife owing to violation of the human rights and the fight between governments and activists.
To take care of the stereotypical treatments that are channeled toward questioning the sovereignty existence of the Israel land within the Middle East, it is critical for responsible authorities to make helpful use of training and development exercises that can enlighten and invite a sense of appreciation for the diverse nature of cultures that make up the region. Through educational exercises, it is possible for the governments and activists to come into an agreement concerning the sovereignty and the right of the people within it. These recommendations are considered feasible for creating a sense of unity and appreciation for minority and small groups within Israel and the Middle East at large.
The growth of the Middle Eastern countries lies in the adoption of the relevant current technologies. As a result, countries that are on the frontline of potentially pioneering the development phase include Saudi Arabia and Tunisia (Glausiusz, 2018). For instance, Saudi Arabia has in the recent past built an innovative culture that has enabled the revamp of the economy from oil-dependency to novel development of sustainable energy and drivers of economic and political successes. The introduction of cloud computing technology and blockchain systems as part of the digitized broadband infrastructure that is driven by the need to attain the vision 2030 goals and objectives (Glausiusz, 2018). In Tunisia, technological adoption has also been prioritized whereby about 9% of University graduate are eligible for software technical jobs, and the country specializes in outsourced resources.
On the other hand, Egypt is still lagging in terms of development through technology due to a high degree of paranoia toward its potential harms and uncertainties (Glausiusz, 2018). To leverage the development and milestones that are attained in the process of adopting the technology, it is essential for the Middle Eastern society to unite efforts through communal policies that are aimed to advocate for other peoples' considerations (Glausiusz, 2018). This suggestive solution is founded on the premise that an in-depth understanding often paves the way for appreciation and positive embrace of improvement and betterment alternatives that lie within reach.
Besides, warring communities add up to the list of problems that affect the Middle East. Countries such as Iraq, Baghdad, Iran, and Syria are known for war and enmity that hinders the people's freedom to life. Political instability is the main cause of war whereby corrupt and unjust leaders are incapable of considering the needs of the people while laying down a set of constitutional legislation that governs how people live and correlate with the adjacent neighbors (Cordesman, 2016; Makdisi, 2017). For example, the Syrian war sprung from inconsideration for the people's expectation and needs, which led to dissatisfied citizens that were ruled by President Bashar al-Assad's government. Cordesman (2016) reports that war emanated from governmental retaliation to demonstrations and public opinion expressions by a group of activists and political liberators.
To curb the recurrence of these warring episodes across the Middle Eastern boundaries, it is essential to make intense application of democratic governments that are ruled by the needs and preferences of the majority ruled. Such political systems will awaken executive leaders' capacities to pay attention and consider the needs and expectations of the people that lie within the sovereign boundaries (Cordesman, 2016). With information and knowledge use, various communities within the Middle East will be keener to stop the spread of undesirable characters from one sovereign state to the next. Notably, civic education could play a core role in informing the necessary stakeholders regarding the importance of people's incentive management and inclusion.
Gender discrimination is another persistent issue among most Middle Eastern societies. According to Shelton (2016), male chauvinism is prevalent among the Arabic and Islamic cultures whereby the minorities (women) are denied of their rights to choose fashionable products as well as lifestyles to adopt. Generally, the society associates men with superiority and capacity to offer effective oversight services that can drive the success of a given economy (Shelton, 2016). For example, in Islam, women must wear the hijab to hide parts of the body to be considered decent and fit for the society. Sometimes, a majority of the Middle Eastern societies despise women's opinions when it comes to decision-making with the interest of the entire community at heart (Makdisi, 2017). To fend for equitable needs of the minorities like women it is necessary for the various political systems to consider investment in educative and informative exercises that could revamp the people's reaction to paranormal beliefs that hinder equality in many cultures.
Further, recent a majority of the discussed current problems are consistent in the Middle East due to the misuse of problem-solving techniques while handling communally effective issues. For instance, the pursuance of the Islamic culture, monarchical political systems, and staunch socio-cultural beliefs and norms has led to various cases of extremisms (Makdisi, 2017). For instance, religious misunderstanding has often been overemphasized during vengeance practices leading to inhumane activities such as terrorism and merciless killing. These trends are persistent in the Middle East owing to protection in the name of the religious or cultural beliefs. According to Makdisi (2017), globally influential institutes such as the United Nations have the mandate to endorse civic education programs that can enlighten the people...
