Introduction
According to Gartner Peer Insights (2018), Enterprise Architecture Repository tools are software used by information and technology experts to capture, store, and structure and analyze data concerning enterprise architecture and send the information to business stakeholders. Enterprise architecture tools help in the content development, strategic planning and decision making in business, information technology as well as solution architectures. Enterprise architecture has built-in capabilities for management, high-level analysis, unique design, and implementation. Enterprise architecture uses models like UML, BPMN as well as SysML. Architecture support tools are on demand because they have techniques that help enterprises make digital transformations that help them emerge the leading in a competitive business world. Architecture enterprise tools include orbus software, mega, avolution, dragon1, qualiware, sparx systems, planview, erwin, and bizzdesign (Minoli, 2008).
First, orbus Server is an iserver Business and so0ftware transformation suite that is the leading in the market for organizing, governing and managing a business. Iserver is the only software that enables integrated standards for successful IT transformation (Minoli, 2008).On the other hand, iserver is unique for providing the secure environment for strategic change and planning because it allows businesses to use Microsoft software like office, visio as well as sharepoint. I server is beneficial to the organization for enabling reuse of existing content, easy to use, affordable, rapid productivity, flexible and fast returns.
The second tool is avolution also known as ABACUS used for road mapping, modeling, running analytics and reporting metrics and used to import and export data through SharePoint. ABACUS is the leading tool for enterprise architecture that provides analysts with the correct and appropriate information at the right time to predict strategic outcomes. Avolution uses frameworks like BPMN, TOGAF as well as archimate. Third, Mega is a tool that is known worldwide for managing the complexities of companies by helping software experts to create innovation and interacting with their digital operations (Minoli, 2008). Mega International tool helps company leaders to have the information they require to make right choices concerning good governance, innovation, risk management and cost control. Mega uses HOPEX software solutions that help enterprises to boost their business and information and technology operations by creating unique and attractive products, reduce cost and manage change.
Fourth, a Sparx system is an architecture tool specialized in visual modeling and high performance in planning and designing of software systems. Sparx systems use Unified Modeling Language (UML) to create innovations in sectors like defense, entertainment, government, telecommunication and automotive engineering (Minoli, 2008). With Sparx, one can create charts for changing management, track tasks as well as resourcing. Sparx Systems also have ribbons that help to easily and quickly access tools needed every day.
The fifth tool is Erwin enterprise architecture that creates and supports innovation, implements big data, cloud mitigation as well as technology transformation. Erwin helps to assess the enterprise's capabilities, quality, and maturity as well as identify improvements and implement information and technology investment. Also, Erwin enterprise architecture creates a connection between data and applications for greater focus and value in the architecture industry. Lastly, dragon1 is a visual enterprise method that makes proper use of architecture designs and principles to predict and control the quality of information and technology solutions and innovations (Minoli, 2008). Dragon1 uses four concepts that help in visualizing information and technology solutions, and they include a perception, working methodology, representation style, and the form of support.
