As previously posted in chapter one, geography has a great deal when it comes to the development of particular communities. Civilization is one example that was developed in areas with flat, fertile and large fields that were different from the ones that were formed around the coastal regions or mountain regions. Modern developed countries such as the United States have a geography that plays a significant role when it comes to people's choices and the areas they opt to live (Torjesen 150). Colorado for instance which is very popular with riding bikes and hiking in the mountains has some constraints imposed as powerful when it comes to the construction of transportation and other infrastructure when it comes to the distribution of goods and services (Torjesen 150).

Geography also has an enormous influence when it comes to the food we grow, the buildings we build and the clothes we wear. For instance, people who settle near the ocean must take into account the sandy and tides coastlines (Golant 382). When they think of building upon the sand, it means that there is the provision of support because of the sand below. This is why so many houses are found built along the coastlines because the tides go beyond the houses. Several materials in this case for roofing are used to be flexible with all weather (Golant 388). Areas that have a great deal of brick and clay soil make constructing buildings cheaper because the houses will be built from bricks. In the forest area, homes built there have a frame-like structure.

The food that we grow also varies based on the geography of the area. Terrain areas, for instance, are ideal for wheat and rice. Pinneaples or mangoes, in this case, cannot grow in such places because such areas have seasons and rainfall that dictate the type of plant to be developed. The population of the city is also affected by the geography of the region (Galant 390). For instance, in Hawaii, the natives dress in cultural dresses because of the warm climates. Their mode of dressing is also different from the northern-eastern part of America because the area has cold climates. The last thing geography affects is the type of work people do. For instance, fishermen need to be near the ocean to allow them to get fish (Torjesen 166). Wheat, on the other hand, cannot be grown in a swamp and coal cannot be acquired along the sea or mountains.

Geography as described plays a controversial role when it comes to the way human beings live and conduct their businesses. For instance, People who live on small islands due to isolation are usually excluded from the significant impact of the history. Modern developed countries such as the United States have geography that plays a vital role when it comes to people's choices and the areas they opt to live. Geography also affects the type of work people do base on the area they live.
