Introduction
It is imperative to note that teamwork makes all dreams to work, but what should be understood is that it does not just come easily. For effective teamwork and collaboration to be realized, it needs a concerted effort of all the team members. It should be noted that this is a very prominent aspect in most of the work settings (Tseng & Yeh, 2013). It is the process of working collaboratively towards a common goal. It is, therefore, the ability to direct individual accomplishments through proper communication towards the goals of an organization.
Firstly, one of the major advises that I would give to myself concerning effective teamwork and collaboration is that proper teamwork is not only good for the group but individuals too. This is because working as a team enables individual members to work together while maximizing their strengths. In lines to this, therefore, the efficiency of the team will be boosted because a collaborated working environment leads to increased productivity.
Another advice I would give to myself is that in the process of a collaborated teamwork, there will be increased creativity during the learning process. This is because learning with others in a team will make me gain different perspectives as well as learn new insights. This will help in the encouraging of innovative thinking, thereby helping to create an environment which fosters the sharing of ideas (Tseng & Yeh, 2013). Also, teamwork and collaboration complement each other's strength as it involves a group of individuals who have skills and experience in different areas. Further, it should be noted that working as a team also helps to boost morale as being part of a group promotes a good work culture because of increased motivation.
Notably, in advising myself for effective teamwork and collaboration, I will ensure that as part of the team, I will offer good leadership to help steer the group in the right direction towards achieving the set objectives (Tseng & Yeh, 2013). Proper communication tools should complement this because this is an oblivious recipe of successful teamwork. Additionally, for effective teamwork and collaboration, I will ensure that I give full commitment to the team to be able to achieve our objectives.
It should be noted that communication is the exchange of communication between people to achieve a better understanding. On the other hand, collaboration is the process of exchanging information and things to advance the state of a collaborative product. The most crucial aspect here is the exchange of information. It is therefore to state that the library rally activity helped to promote my communication and collaboration as there was open sharing of information as well as interacting with different ways of communication (Tseng & Yeh, 2013). It helped me to develop appropriate listening and speaking skills to a group of people. This enhanced my collaboration as I got to acknowledge the importance of coming together and courageously sharing with the team.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the paper has keenly observed the two main issues on which the essay was based on. The question of ways which I took to advise myself on the aspect of teamwork and collaborative learning and also how the library rally further helped me in my communication as well as collaboration skills.
