Introduction

Collaboration is undeniably a valuable tool that enhances the thinking process as well as the end work product within a work environment. Broadly, communication in nurse education involves working together to improve patient care outcomes and reduce the challenges that may otherwise emanate, if teamwork is not embraced (Cress, Moskaliuk, & Jeong, 2016). The adoption of collaboration within the healthcare setting has helped improve patient outcomes, reduce medical errors, and improve staff relationships and job satisfaction (O'Brennan et al. 2019). Therefore, I believe that collaboration will be an integral tool to implement in my future role as a nurse educator. Based on the fact that my area of the profession will mainly involve teaching nursing students on how to become excellent healthcare professionals, class collaboration together with students will be necessary (Cress, Moskaliuk, & Jeong, 2016).

I envision collaboration in my role as a future nurse educator in various ways. I will collaborate with my students in the design, delivery, and evaluation of the instructions as well as the decision-making. Secondly, I will involve students to work in cooperative learning groups in the same way educators collaborate. Collaboration with students will also mean involving the students as problem solvers, designers of their learning, and being tremendously self-determined in their future planning. Finally, I envision a collaboration with students by engaging them as mediators of conflicts and advocates for themselves and one another.

I believe that through such collaboration, I envision to increase the academic and social competence of my students, thereby improving the school reforms. Additionally, it will promote democratic schooling were students are allowed to give their opinions without any restrictions.

Preparing for Presentation and Public Speaking

An effective presentation involves the use of the relationship between the presenter and the audience (Manan et al. 2016). Ideally, it requires an excellent consideration of the needs of the audience to capture their interests and develop understanding. As a result, the speaker can inspire their confidence, thereby allowing him or her accomplishes his objective. As I prepare to present the lesson plan to my students, I envision achieving the mentioned objectives. Various fears and anxieties, however, exist during the presentation (Schultze, 2020). My anxiety, fears, and concerns, will include the broad audience, lack of preparation, the fear of failure or being evaluated, the high-status audience, as well as the hostile audience. However, I believe that through adequate training, active research on the topic to be presented, prior understanding of my audience and their needs, and personal preparation will all be vital in making and enhancing an effective lesson presentation. It will further help me mitigate any fears of failure or being evaluated.

In reality, a growing number of studies have shown that public speaking is a significant concern and challenge for many people. Many people are unable to make an effective and continuous presentation without finding themselves in severe states of anxiety, fear, and sometimes hostility (Schultze, 2020). To improve my public speaking skills, I intend to develop my confidence to eliminate any anxiety and concerns that may come during the presentation. I also intend to train on my voice regulation and modulations, connect with my audience, and paint a compelling picture through storytelling with an overall aim of enhancing my presentation.
