Introduction
This social change project is tackling the complex social issue of the lack of representation of women in politics. With the sustainable development goals, it is easy to empower girls and women and achieve gender equality. In doing so, the project focuses on the strategies that ensure equal distribution of political leadership among men and women.
The region chosen for this project is the United States of America Federal Government, with the sub-population making up the focus of the project being Generation Y (DOB 1977-1994).
Problem statement: America currently falls behind most established democratic countries in the world. The number of women representation is less than 25%. In the United States, the most significant percentage of the population is made of women with the portion amounting to more than 50%. In most of the Congress, the number of men representatives exceeds the number of women representatives. The less percentage representation of women in the Congress and political arena creates a negative image of how the view of women in the society.
Tactics Strategies and collaborations to Tackle 3 SMART Goals
To bring the best off women and to ensure that women actively participate in politics and leadership, the organization has to implement some strategies that help to tackle the issue. In particular, looking to existing and established research on the benefits of proportional representation on bringing under-represented groups into the political sphere. Engaging women at the grassroots level will be vital to ensuring their ongoing engagement in politics and encourage future participation.
The engagement with women is essential to the organization as the organization gains the information where the women need skills and may identify the potential barriers to women participation in the politics. To determine the reasons for less women's involvement in politics, the organization will strategize its goals in interviewing the female politicians. The interview will disclose the reasons for less involvement in the political field, and therefore the organization can implement some possible solution to curb the social issue.
In addition to, the company will strategize in Implementing incentives and targets to encourage the recruitment of women at the grassroots level, financial or otherwise. Supporting the women will help to overcome the barriers to women participation in politics. The support may motivate women to engage actively in politics since they can now pursue the positions that they can well fit in. By doing so, the organization will help to change the image of women in the society.
As part of the strategies, the organization will collaborate with different individuals, organization and the community to help bring the best out of women. There are some women's organizations internationally who support the involvement of women in politics and aim to increase participation rates across the globe. The collaboration will base on the United States. The following are a list of organizations with whom cooperation will be necessary:
The ultraviolet community: the ultraviolet community is one of the cities that is rapidly growing in the United States. The community entails a group of people trained to create a competitive world in the political arena by creating women representatives in politics. The society aims at fighting the sexism and creating equality for all women through culture and the policy change (google). The community has a highlighted issue in their public campaign, and it can be easy to collaborate with them since the organization will know the fields they can play. This summit is open to women from the age of 15 up (Running Start, 2018).
The American civil liberty union. The union works in the legislatures, courts, and communities to preserve and defend the right of every individual in the country. The organization takes up the toughest civil liberty cases and issues to protect all individuals from government abuse. The organization is one of the best to collaborate with since it will help to prevent and protect the rights of women to participate in politics.
Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. The organization runs some initiatives and campaigns for women, including scholarships and leadership training, internships, and helping women to campaign to run for office. Women can network, gain skills in leadership, and hear from successful women in politics through a convention called Biennial.
Another organization Emily's: Democratic women can get a chance to participate in the office through this organization. The organization aims at enrolling and helping women to build their campaigns. The organization has helped elect 12 governors, 23 senators, and 116 House representatives since 1985. It also researches barriers to women's participation (Emily's List, 2018).
With the above strategies and collaboration, the organization will empower women with the skills and education in the political arena. The partnership will help in educating and defending the rights of women in politics.

How will you measure success and achieve your vision
The measurement of the success of the initiative on a short-term basis will be difficult. With the potential results from interventions at the high-school level and the training for women in leadership not necessarily having an immediate effect on their participation or representation in politics. However, it may be possible in collaborating with outside organizations who work closely with women, to measure success through interest rates in programs and initiatives, and involvement of women at the local level in politics.
The women's economic empowerment has many dimensions and is specific to the context under considerations. The women's economic advancement and the participation in politics plays a vital role in measuring the success. Since the goal is to ensure the active involvement in politics, the increase in the number of women participation can be a measure for the success of the work (Golla, Anne., Malhotra Anju., Nanda, Pria., Mehra, Rekha, 3, 2011). The measure of success can be due to the quality and quantity of products the women deliver.
In the long-term, it is expected that initiatives will begin to filter through, increasing the number of women running for power at a local level, then state-level, and finally at national-level. Along the way, there is much work to do in increasing the likelihood of women to run for Congress, and it is possible to use surveys of women in local and state level politics to find out whether the number intending to run has increased since the beginning of the program.
