The STAR method is applied in the procurement industry. It follows four steps, namely, Situation, Task, Action, and Result. The current procurement company at hand is Zara clothing company. Zara is a global company mostly operating in Europe (Baiden, Razak & Danku, 2015). It has many stores and usually aims at increasing the number of stores in most countries in Europe.
The organization of the supply chain is usually centered in Spain in Europe. It tends to operate in a more similar way to Amazon; however, it specializes in clothing products.
Research is based on available information from their database that gets broadcasted to the public to derive the results (Bakkabulindi & Pule, 2017). The data was collected from different sources, including data mining tools like rapid miner tool to allow advanced analysis.
Some of the issues that arose include the delivery of the products, customer service, and the system security analysis from their web application, and the mobile application interfaces.
The effectiveness of internal control measured was analyzed after a complete analysis of the risk exposure and mapping of the control.
The risk assessment and evaluation were done by running the tests on the platform and from the data given. The rapid miner application shows the graphs from the data and eases the process of assessment (Ifejika, 2019). On the issue of security, the evaluation was achieved by the use of the Nessus tool. This tool is an open-source tool. The score of the overall assessment turned out to be fair. The score remains to be medium.
The advice was to increase the number of customer service workers to ensure a 24/7 application online assistance, especially with the advanced technology. This will help curb the issues of online assistance.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I would advise online platform companies to take precautions when dealing with the delivery of products to their customers by ensuring that payments get made beforehand. The other thing to take note of is the protection of databases by the companies (Pule & Bakkabulindi, 2017). Companies should ensure their databases are secure as much as possible.
