Since time immemorial, music has been part of human being. Music plays numerous roles in human life including educating and entertaining. It is the need to study more in music and what it offers to the society that Speed Walton III as an artist has been chosen to review his musical career path. Speed Walton III is a great American hip-hop recording artist who doubles up as a songwriter and an entrepreneur. Fondly known by the stage as speed, he has endeared himself to the mass where he gained recognition while still using his old stage name Buggs The Rock. While still known by his former stage name, he dropped in his belt some of the underground mixes of hip-hop dating back to 2009 where he released the Super Hero in collaboration with DJ Mick Boogie. Speed came to the limelight courtesy of his exploration of social media especially. He created a fan base by continually using MySpace where cultivated a robust internet presence referring to it "Space Ivadaz." This helped to propel his fame while creating a national buzz with his musical piece released in 2010known as the "Mutant Level 5." The Mutant Level 5 featured some of the great national acts such as Little Brother, Freeway, Tanya Morgan and many more.
As a spirited musician and songwriter, Speed had the zeal for prosperity. By 2011, speed decided to form Gold Shoe Band, which was constituted of a diverse group of musicians majorly drawn from Cincinnati. Due to the diversity, a lot of influence was noticed in his songs ranging from jazz, classical, and funk. Besides, he kept on recording as well as performing some solo hip-hop until he teamed up with his longtime friend of Cincinnati native DJ Clock Work in 2012. The duo sumptuously released came up a stellar mix tape of the wrath of Zeus which experienced several rave reviews setting speed and his compatriot apart from their peers; he received more praises. Because of the success that he recorded, speeds star rose hitting the festive circuit being invited to perfume in various significant events such as SXSW, A3C, and others.
In 2014, Speed came up with new hit acting under the solo project still under his old stage name Buggs The Rock. His hit this time was "Scattered thoughts of an American poet" which received myriads of praises. The hit claimed a worldwide attachment to the people exhibiting a sonically growth that culminated to the attention of the hip-hop national scale. This earned him an invitation by a renowned hip-hop legend Talib Kweli to join in writing his prisoner conscious tour. As his star would continually rise, speed signed with Talib's record under the umbrella of Space Invadaz. Speed has overly accomplished a lot of success in his musical career. He has won the heart of many co-signs within the mainstream acts, and the world is in essence, waiting for his next move. Alongside his accomplishments, he had established himself as a legendary figure to which people are waiting to underscore his underground circuit to fulfill his prophecy as the hip-hop superstar. Lately, he has formed one of the best recording labels-the Galaxy.
Speed's Early Life
Speed was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was brought up in a family of two households in Coryville, which is located in east Daniels. His grandmother who was referred to as Big Momma his older brother Jeremy, his mother Tanya, aunt Angie together with other five cousins and their dog pet called demon played a significant role in shaping Speed's life in his formative ages. His grandmother was an employee of the Frisch while his mother used to work at some of the fast food places doubling as a server and at the same time the family breadwinner. Growing up as a young boy, speed had a strong relationship with his grandmother who played a critical role in introducing him to music. She gave him his first journal from which speed extracted the first rhyme book turning it into lyrical poems that formed his musical foundation.
Later in life, Speed's mother relocated to North side which was a troubled neighborhood, this was the place speed grew up almost his entire teenage with his younger brother Noel. He attended some of the neighborhood schools such as Kirby, Schwab, and Chase where his elementary schooling commenced. From the elementary schools, Speed earned his neck name Buggs besides meeting some of his friends whom they collaborated with later in his musical career. Some of his old time friends include Charles Reynolds, a longtime friend to speed and one of the greatest music producers, Fredrick mango, Tawon Arnold, and Herm all of whom went to the same high school, Aiken. In all his endeavors, speed always perfected his craft because he had wanted to be a real musician above everything. His aspiration eventually made him graduate and attended a one-year musical induction at a central state university. He eventually decided to leave for New York in pursuit of the musical career with a check that his grandmother gave him.
