The documentary secrets, politics, and torture is a profound one as it gives the secrets behind the scenes that people undergo in the interrogation for information (Secrets, Politics and Torture, 2015). It is insightful of how the politics are run and the secrets behind it. Experts' opinions are beliefs or judgments about a given thing by a person who has experience on the subject of discussion. On the other hand, non-expert opinion lacks any evidence to back it up and thus may be disregarded when advice is being sought.

The people who ordered and allowed the use of torture should be held legally responsible for the things they did and facilitating the process of torture. It is a crime against humanity and needs to be dealt with completely without bias. The people who also destroyed the evidence of torture in the tapes recorded should also be held accountable. The film Zero Dark Thirty is seen as propaganda of the pro-Obama era as it gives various unsettling information of the government at that time. The directors of the movie propose and hold it that the movie gives the account of the things that happened. However, the events were slightly exaggerated, giving a skewed impression of what happened. The Senate intelligence committee said the film was grossly inaccurate and misleading, too, particularly the scenes which were graphic showing how the CIA officers were torturing their detainees. The report was not compelling to the public as they were trying to sanitize themselves of the secrets that had spilled out in public.

Partisan politics may have played a role in the production of the movie as it was produced during the Congressional politics. There is no concrete evidence to claim so but all the available reasoning points in that direction because of the timing. Members of the United States Government may have lied about the events that happened to the detainees in the pre-capture of Bin Laden. The said detainees hare believed to have been tortured before they could give information on how to find Laden. The government needed to lie to its people as the methods they used to extract the information was illegal.

Whether to release the full Senate Intelligence Report to the public is a decision that lies with the bodies involved in the secrets. The United States Government owe it to their citizens that they should provide them with the relevant and accurate information of the events as they unfolded during the capture of Bin Laden. The Panetta Review contains the flashbacks and the accounts of the torture through the use of enhanced techniques of interrogation. The report explains about sleep deprivation, rectal rehydration, waterboarding, and mock burials. The report should be released to the public so that people get to know what happened.

The CIA spied on the Senate Intelligence Committee while it was compiling its report, which was inappropriate as they could have tampered with their report. It was inappropriate for the committee to print out portions of the Panetta review as that does not uphold the values of the government, which also includes transparency. The opposition of the release by members of the Republican party shows that they were protecting something from getting into the public. They were avoiding the spread of negative information on their candidates.
