Story Structure and Writing
The film "Schindler's List" describes the Holocaust, but the Holocaust supplies the story field, instead of the subject. The film is two parallel character studies, one of a psychopath and the other of a con man. Oskar Schindler, who is seen swindling the Third Reich, and Amon Goeth as its pure evil, are people who are created by the opportunities of war. Schindler did not have any success in business before or after the war, but he used the cover to run factories which helped the lives of more than ten thousand Jews. Moreover, after the war, Goeth was executed, which Schindler used as a cover for his homicidal pathology. In narrating their stories, Steve Spielberg found a way of approaching the Holocaust, that is a tragic and too vast subject that can be compressed in any reasonable way by fiction (Cole n.p). Nevertheless, in the ruins of the saddest and most emotional story of the century, he did not find a happy ending but at least affirming that resistance to the evil can succeed and is possible. In the face of the Charnel houses of Nazi, "it a statement that we have to make or we all go down in despair."
Sound
Schindler's list as a film has been a simple target for the people who find the approach of Spielberg too commercial or upbeat or condemning for converting the Holocaust sources into a story that is well-told. However, every artist must work according to his medium, and the film medium does not exist unless an audience is there between the screen and the projector. Claude Lanzmann made a film that is more profound about the Holocaust in Shoah, but only a few people were willing to sit in its nine hours. The unique ability of Spielberg in his serious videos has always been to join artistry with popularity, such that he can say whatever he wishes to say in a way that many people would like to hear. Additionally, in the film, his brilliant achievement is Oskar Schindler's character, which is played by Liam Neeson taking the part of a man who never admits to anyone when he is doing until the end of the film. Schindler leaves it to the Jews and Ben Kingsley (Itzhak Stern), to understand what cannot be said; that the factory that Schindler is using is like a con game to cheat the Nazis of his workers' lives (Spielberg et al. n.p).
Schindler then leaves it to Stern, and Spielberg passes it to us because the movies is a rare case of someone conducting the opposite of what he seems to be doing and the director leaves the audience to figure it out by themselves. Measuring the audacity of Schindler is very stupendous. His factory creates pans and pots and the second creates the casings of shells. But both of them are very inefficient as they do not make any contribution to the effort of the Nazi war (Spielberg et al. n.p). Moreover, a man who is more cautious may have insisted that the factories made casings that are usable and fine pots, in making them invaluable to the Nazis. The complete measure of the obsession of Schindler is that he wished to save the lives of the Jews and to produce goods that are unusable, all at ago while putting on a badge of the Nazi party on the lapel of his costly black-market suit.
Ideology
Nevertheless, the key to his behavior is found in his first great scene, in a nightclub that is frequented by the officers of Nazi. One can conclude that his resources are made up of money in his pockets and the clothes he wears. Schindler walks into the club and orders for the best champagne to a table of Nazis who are at the high rank, and soon as the Nazi men together with their girlfriends sit at his table, swells with a late arrival (Cole n.p). The strategy of Schindler as a con man is often to be in charge, seem connected well, lavish the Nazis who are powerful with bribes and gifts, and to stride imperious and tall, through occurrences or situations that can break a lesser man. Additionally, he has the knack of disguising of a con man, the factual object of the con. In this case, the Nazis accept his bribes and assume that Schindler's main aim is to enrich himself through the war of the Nazis. The Nazis too do not object as they are also enriched by Schindler, and it never rings to their mind that Schindler is saving the Jews (Gale n.p).
Nonetheless, there is an ancient story about how guards searched for the wheelbarrow of the thief every day, unable to know or figure out what he was stealing. He was stealing the wheelbarrows, and to Schindler, the Jews are his wheelbarrows (Topal, and Gultekin n.p). Additionally, the most scenes that are dramatic in the film depict Schindler snatching his employees from the maw of death. Stern is rescued by Schindler from a train of death by redirecting the load of the train of his male employees from his Auschwitz to Czechoslovakia, his hometown. Moreover, when the train of the women is misrouted in error to Auschwitz, Schindler strides boldly into the camp of death and bribes that commandant to ship them back out again. The insight of Schindler in this scenario is that nobody can walk into Auschwitz on such a mission if he is not the real thing and his boldness is depicted as his shield.
Additionally, as the film proceeds, Stern figures out quickly that the real game of Schindler is not getting rich but to save lives. However, this action is not said aloud until Schindler has Stern make a list of a thousand employees who should be transported to Czechoslovakia. Sterns tells Schindler that the list is life and all around, the margins of the list lies the gulf (Gale n.p). Moreover, considering the commandant, Amon Goeth whose real name is Ralph Fiennes, the Nazi who has the power over Krakow ghetto and later to the camp where all the Jews have been moved. Goeth stands on his ski chalet balcony and shoots the Jews as the practice target, which destroys any shred of hope that the Jews might have as the policies of Nazi follows some pattern which is sane. Moreover, if the Jews can die arbitrarily at his whim, then the adherence and the protests are useless and meaningless. Goeth becomes mad, and war covers his underlying nature of being a serial killer. His cruelty is twisted back on his victims as he spares one life to give the victim hope but later shoots him. This action makes one wonder if it is a weakness of making Goeth insane (Cole n.p). It would have been better for Spielberg to aim rather than on a functionary of the Nazi. The Holocausts' terror comes not because Goeth the monster will kill people, but because many people snatched from their daily lives became willing executioners for Hitler in the chilling phrase (Gale n.p).
Realism vs Formalism
The film "Schindler's list gives the audience the information about Holocausts' parts operated, but it does give any explanation on it because it is inexplicable that genocide could be practiced by men. Genocide is a place that common in the history of humans and is happening currently in the Middle East, Afghanistan, and Africa. America was colonized through a genocide policy against the native people. Race and religion are markets that people use in hating the other, and unless they go beyond them, one must concede that they are potential executioners. The power of the film of Spielberg does not explain that he is evil, but it depicts that men can at times be good in the face of it, and good can prevail (Spielberg et al. n.p). Moreover, the film ends with the end of the war, and the Jews of Schindler are stranded in a strange land, though alive. A liberating Russian forces member asks the whether there is a town around and the Jews walk off towards the horizon. Also, the shot that follows fades from white and black into color and people think that it is a continuation of the film until they see women and men on the hill crest dressed differently. Then it strikes the audience that they are the Jews of Schindler. Therefore, the film started with a Jews' list being confined to the ghetto and ended with a list of some people who are saved. The list is depicted as life that all around its margins, the gulf lies.
