In response to your request for a review of our Asia policy, your National Security Council recommends that the future of Asia policies in the next twenty years should be examined. The examination is necessary to help in the planning of the state's policies on international relations. China is growing both in the economy and military power and its relationship with Japan, Vietnam and North Korea are of interest (Cole & Tambunlertchai, 2017).
The economic growth in China is posing a change in the regional order and a transnational effect in Asia. Innovation is the great driving force behind the economic success of China with information and telecommunication sector is a key aspect of the national industrial growth (Hanhua, 2018). The innovation in power and engines as seen the Chinese cars and power-driven machines flood the international markets. The statistics from the National data shows that Vehicles manufacturing contribution to the economy has increased by 56.8%. Consequently, the robots and integrated circuits have grown by 35.1% and 17.2% respectively.
Trade is an important element of the Asian economy. for instance, China is the leading exporting country across the world with products nearly in all sectors of production. With multinational companies such as Huawei, the country is exporting numerous products (Hanhua, 2018). The country has its markets in the Middle East, Europe, USA, and Africa. China is not only exporting products and goods, but it is also exporting cheap labor. The Construction companies and general Chinese engineering sector are currently expanding the operations across the world. In addition, China is regarded as the fastest growing consumer market and the second largest importer of the consumer goods. Notably, the trade accounts for $25.256 Trillion.
The military development in China is also key to the future of Asia (Cole &Tambunlertchai, 2017). China's military is currently ranked third in the world. The innovations and industrial development in China have contributed to a strong military. The Airforce is well equipped with advanced aircraft carriers as well as modern warplanes. The army is currently equipped with Main Battle Tanks (MBT) together with modern armor and artillery. Moreover, the Chinese navy has numerous warships and aircraft carriers that greatly contributes to the military strength of China. China has rich petroleum reserves that that is key in supporting the military development (Hanhua, 2018). Besides, China has a high population that cheaply and readily provides the necessary personnel required in the military.
The trends in the economic and military development might grant China superiority in Asia and across the world. There is a need for the USA to counter check China's development. The relationship of China with Vietnam has never has been full of uncertainties. However, with the military development in China, it is projected that China would like to counter their relationship with Vietnam, especially with the growing urge to expand the sea space in the south. China has always viewed Vietnam as ungrateful for the support they accorded them during the cold war (Simon, 2016). The Japanese relationship with China may worsen. The two countries are main producers of engines and other electronic gadgets hence economic rivalry will erupt. Moreover, the military development in China will help China push for the boundary expansion, especially in the sea space((Simon, 2016). However, with North Korea, China will embrace peaceful coexistence to outdo the USA.
Conclusion
India and Pakistan have had hostile relations that are traced to history (Shih, 2018). The hostility is traced from the portion of British India in 1947. The two nations have demographic overlaps that have led to numerous conflicts such as Kashmir Conflict. After the independence of these two nations, diplomatic relations and agreements have led to have a ceasefire. However, the two nations still experience border conflicts.
