Introduction
China is currently engaging itself and Malaysia in the "One Belt Road" project. The "One Belt Road" is a massive investment plan that China is yet to realize in many years. The "One Belt One Road" plan comprises of two parts. The belt which reestablishes the old silk road, route, and the road, which is used to imply a variety of paths that will be designed through different oceans to link up China to the world (Du & Zhang, 2018). The plan is intended to construct railways and modern roads that will link China and Malaysia, expanding its animation industry to make it globally marketable (Zhang & Li, 2018). The two states are the pioneers in the animation industry and use their rich cultural background to animate their products. The primary goals that the One Belt One road plan intends to fulfill are improving infrastructure, energy, and transportation to expand the animation industry between Malaysia and China. Malaysia is one of the states that has actively embraced the project and is working closely with China to ensure the realization of the set objectives of the animation industry (Jiao, Wang, Xiao, Zhou, & Zeng, 2017). Malaysia has been the highest exporter of animation content, and China is likely to use the One Road initiative to catalyze the Malaysian animation industry to stimulate competition. This research proposal aims at studying the "One Belt One Road" plan to lay the ground for the actual study. It analyzes some of the study questions, objectives, and significance of the study to the end users of the report concerning historical and advancements in the animation industry between China and Malaysia.
Research Questions
Research questions are the first questions that the team will use during the study (Bhatti, Abro, Gillal & Karbasi, 2018). Study questions intend to give direction to the researchers to guide them to remain in the scope of the study. Some of the research questions that will be used for the study include:
- What is the influence of China's "One Belt One Road" project to the animation industry in Malaysia?
- How does Malaysia incorporate international and cultural social development in its animation industry?
- What are the primary factors that make Malaysia be the top exporter of animation content globally?
- What are some of the benefits that the Malaysian animation industry will gain with close involvement and incorporation of China's film and animation content?
- What is the contribution of the animation industry in Malaysia and China to their economies regarding the formation of the "One Belt One Road" project?
Research Objectives
The study objectives are the accomplishments that need to be achieved upon completion of the study (Chen, 2018). They are the answers to the research questions that the research intends to note (Yu, 2017). Some of the research objectives comprise of:
- To establish the effect of China's "One Belt One Road" project to the animation industry in Malaysia.
- To examine ways in which Malaysia incorporate both cultural and international content in the development of the animation industry.
- To investigate some of the factors that Malaysia employs in modifying their animation content to make them the top exporter of the animation content.
- To asses some of the benefits that the Malaysian animation industry will accrue from the development of the One Belt project.
- To establish the contribution of the animation industry to the GDP of the two states.
Literature Review
Malaysia and China are jointly innovating the animation industry under the One Belt project to market it globally. The animation industry in Malaysia has advanced from traditional art to 3D picture motion to embrace its cultural background (Bhatti et al., 2018). Multimedia tools and procedure are playing a crucial role in the advancement that has seen Malaysia become the top exporter of animation content. Multimedia learning facilitates easy explanation of complex theories and phenomena through animation (Bhatti et al., 2018). China is embracing itself to tap the animation knowledge in Malaysia by linking it with the One Belt project to catalyze the Malaysian industry hence producing shared classic animation content. 3D cartoons are created to express the intended message to the public with audio skills developed from the social understanding to reflect moral messages. The One Belt project will facilitate transportation between the states hence easy and quick sharing of ideas. It will also improve the economic standards of both nations due to increased sales of the animation content to other continents that the One Belt project will reach (Bhatti et al., 2018).
Bhatti and colleagues have widely studied the animation industry in Malaysia and China, tracking its advanced up to the 3D picture technology. They discuss some of the importance of multimedia tools towards the successes of the Malaysian animation industry, which makes it a top exporter (Standing & Standing, 2018). The primary goal of the animation is to educate and pass moral values which are well analyzed in their journal. Regardless of their crucial research, Bhatti and colleagues fail to discuss the competition between Malaysia and China in the animation industry (Wu, 2017). They also failed to establish the future of the animation industry after the 3D technology. They even fail to asses if China will, in the long run, topple Malaysia to become the top exporter of animation content with the installation of the One Belt plan (Lent, 2018).
Significance of the Study
The research on the animation industry in Malaysia and China with the establishment of the One Belt project will significantly benefit users who have a keen interest on development and animation matters (King, Horrocks, & Brooks, 2018). The recipients will understand the significance of the One Belt plan to the animation industry of Malaysia and China (Kennell, 2018). They will also comprehend the factors that Malaysia uses to become a top exporter of animation content and the economic value of the animation industry (Swaine, 2015). The recipients will also understand the impact of China's involvement in the Malaysian animation industry and the possible competition levels expected (Ferdinand, 2016).
Research Methodology
The team will use a qualitative research technique. The qualitative method allows the team to evaluate data with great detail; hence, easy appraisal. It also facilitates the prediction of the phenomena based on the available data. In enhancing the research, the team will use both primary and secondary data collection techniques (Flick, 2018). The fundamental methods that will be used include interviews and questionnaires while secondary sources will be reviewed journals and internet (Fung, 2017).
Conclusion
The animation industry in Malaysia is rapidly advancing. China has initiated the One Belt project to ensure that it sustains the sector by providing easy exportation of the content to other countries that are linked up by the One Belt. The partnership between China and Malaysia is expected to stimulate the animation industry hence contributing to the economy of the two nations.
