On the other hand, the country takes pride in democracy and social advancement, a situation that enhances investments and collaboration with different people across the globe. The existence of numerous trade partners makes the United States to be recognized as a trading hub globally. Even though the USA is the richest country in the world; the country experiences highest level of inequality, a situation that continues to worsen day by day. In other words, United States is one of the wealthiest and unequal nations across the globe. When compared to other nations, the level of inequality in the United States is similar to that of Mexico and Malaysia (Stelzner, 2015). The level of equality in the US cannot match that of East Asia and Western Europe that have lower levels of inequalities. In economic terms, income inequality refers to the situations whereby there is uneven distribution of the country's wealth among the population. In the United States of America, income inequality is usually on the rise for the last thirty years. The income includes interest on the bank savings, salaries, and wages, rent, dividend from shares, as well as the profits. According to the economic data, the middle household income in the year 2012, on average, stood at $51,017 (Stelzner, 2015). However, more than half of the American household income was more than the above figure, a scenario that showed the increasing inequality among the population.

In other words, few people have large investments while majority of the middle class continue to experience increase in salaries. On the other hand, the tax policies favor the rich and disadvantaged the middle-class earners. In other words, middle-income earners are taxed more than the rich, a situation that continues to widen the gap between the rich and the poor. During the 2007/2008 recession, the incomes were hit hard, the middle household income dropped by more than 8%, as a result of the inflation, the income reduced significantly, a situation that continues to enhance income inequality to date (Stelzner, 2015). With the varying economic factors created by weak government policies, the level of inequality continue to rise, even though the economy remains stronger and competitive. Thus, American is becoming more unequal. There is the unbalanced distribution of money in the United States; the majority of rich people owns the bulk of the country' investments. In the United States, the policies formulated only favors the rich, a situation that makes them richer while the middle class becomes poorer. For instance, the national healthcare plan only favors rich people because the baseline contribution is almost equal to everyone. Therefore compared to the venture capitalist and wealthy businessmen and women who make billions of profits in businesses, the amount contributed become negligible. The healthcare contribution plan should target more contribution from wealthy people to bridge the support gap. The more the people become wealthier, the more the gap between the rich and the poor increase, this has been experienced in the last decade.

Inequality in American cannot be perceived only in terms of income; it takes different aspects, from social to political activities (Stelzner, 2015). Today, most of the political leaders in the United States are rich; in other words, the rich can use their financial influence to get a position in the government. Besides, once they get into power, they continue to gain economic advantage and use their position of power to gain more wealth. Life in America continues to become much more unequal that it seems at first glance from the income statistical data. Surviving in the United States has become increasingly difficult as a result of lack of governmental oversight, a situation which causes the income gap to increase and the disappearance of the middle class. As a result of extreme variation in the income gap between the wealthiest one percent and the remaining ninety-nine percent, the middle-class income earners are dissipating to nothing due to the uneven distribution of wealth.

Poverty in the United States of America is one of the major issues that need to be addressed since it leads to the uneven distribution of wealth, which cause controversy, greed, and hate among the populace. The greatest country in the world, USA, continues to have problems in the education sector. Oppression, racism, politics, and socioeconomic status continue to create inequality in the education system (Stelzner, 2015). The increasing number of wealthy people also leads create inequality in the education system. To date, both the state and Federal governments are unable to deliver fair education system to all the citizens. With the inequality in education, people cannot access some jobs and business opportunities, a scenario that continues to cause inequality in the country.

Is the Use of Torture Against Terrorist Suspects Ever Justified?

Terrorist refers to a person, or an individual use uses unlawful intimidation and violence, specifically, against civilians, in pursuit of economic, social, and political gains. In most cases, terrorist activities or attacks lead to the death of many people and even injuries. In the modern global environment characterized by the advanced social system, there are numerous criminal justice issues that ought to be addressed. In other words, innocent civilians face different challenges in the hands of criminals (Ginbar, 2008). The war against terrorism often target terrorists who are usually on the verge of destroying individual gains.

In some cases, terrorists may be sponsored by different political leaders to confuse political gains. Therefore, when the terrorists are arrested and before they are prosecuted, there is the need to establish the sponsoring individuals to establish the real network. In the justice system, every suspect remains innocent until proven guilty. Just like any other suspects arrested for undertaking different unlawful activities, terrorist's suspects should not be tortured. In other words, torturing terrorist suspects is no longer justifiable (Allhoff, 2012).

Once the terrorist suspects are arrested, they should be confined or remanded as the investigation is being conducted. There is a need for security agencies to protect their rights and ensure that they remain in their rightful minds for investigation (Ginbar, 2008). Also, some security personnel perceives terrorist suspects as criminal who deserve severe punishment. The above scenario is however unlawful according to the rule of law (Allhoff, 2012). The use of torture against the terrorist suspect is therefore unlawful; in other words, it is considered as the abuse of human right. Once the terrorist suspects are arrested, they should be taken through the justice system so that the truth can be identified. In most cases, there are innocent people that may be arrested as a result of terrorist incidence that they have never participated in. As a result, punishing or torturing the suspects may complicate the court process as the officer in charge may also be implicated in the processes.

There are countries that support the use of torture to the terrorist suspects so as they can reveal more information about the processes of terrorism. Even though many people may support the use of torture, it is not the best method when it comes to countering terrorism. Under the laws, terrorist suspects should be presented in courts and their actions justified before being taken to jail. Torturing the terrorist suspects may not be the right method of teaching them lessons. Most terrorists perceive themselves as holly worries, and therefore, torture is part of the pain that they are ready to undergo. In many cases, terrorist often tortures themselves by offering to die with the people in the event of an attack (Ginbar, 2008). Therefore torturing them may not prove to be a good lesson for the rest who still believe that mass killing of the people they consider to be infidels is a holy process. The best method of dealing with terrorist suspects is to use them in the investigation process and get to know more about the terrorist network through them. Most terrorist often tortures the people they capture to scare people; this, therefore, means that it is something they have become used to. Therefore, torturing them in return may not be an effective method of punishing them.

In the investigation processes, criminologists have for a long time, used the offender's narrative to investigate crimes and the possible causes, however, they have not explored its potential as one of the explanatory variables. Narratives have been hypothesized in criminology. The concepts of narratives are essential or useful in the contemporary criminology since it applies directly to both the bystanders and the perpetrators; it also applies to both the aggregates and individuals. Additionally, the concept of narrative anchors the idea of sub-culture and evades the realism whereby other theories of criminal behaviors are guaranteed. Offender's narratives can be readily gathered or collected by the researchers. Through torturing the terrorist suspects, criminologist may not find the right approach to use narrative as a method of finding information on the terrorism event. The application of narrative criminology is radical in its implications and insights. In most cases, narratives are not enough to reveal enough information on criminal activity. In most cases, through narratives, offenders usually tend to say whatever they believe in, and their perceptions may not reflect the true nature of the crime.

The ideological division on the use of torture against terrorist suspects is not unique in the American context. According to the survey by the Western European nations, people who are politically right are more likely to embrace the use of torture. Also, individuals who have been affected by the act of terrorism may perceive torture as the right approach to deal with terrorist suspects. Therefore, people views on the potential application of torture among the terrorist suspects are directly correlated with the approaches that the US government is ready to take to deal with the suspects.
