Introduction
The client's business specializes in selling cocktails in lounges inside their club. The client's business is called The Spur. Since most people around the client's area prefer cocktails over other drinks, the client has a wide variety of customers. The logo needs to consider these customers since it is designed to attract them back to the club. Since the business is a start-up, it also needs to attract new customers, the logo needs to stand out from other cocktail lounges and also be captivating. The business logo will become the face and representative of the client's business it plays the most important role in marketing. It is used in creating online presence with social media and review sites, billboard and advertisement grounds.
A cocktail is a mixed alcoholic drink. The client's business serves different types of cocktails like, martini, Manhattan, mojitos, Bloody Mary, Daiquiri, Gin and Tonic, Old Fashioned Cocktail, margarita and other drinks. The cocktail bar also has a restaurant that serves different types of cuisines to the customers. Customers in the restaurant can also order cocktails from the bar. The bar has been placed a strategic place near a busy road to attract more customers.
Equations of Functions Used
Y = -2x+8
X = 4
Y = 1.5x - 6
Y = 6
The functions above result in a figure as shown in the image. This is the graph that is used to design the logo of the company.
Strengths of The Design
The design is relatively simple so that clients can easily recognize them and colorful to capture the attention of potential customers. It is scalable and therefore can be scaled without losing the picture quality. Due to its simplicity, it can easily be remembered by customers once they see it, therefore leaving a lasting impression. The logo is versatile, and therefore, looks good on both mobile devices and print material. The logo is relevant because the business serves cocktails and the logo is designed like a glass.
Limitations of the Design
The logo uses a cliched symbol in its design, a glass. Most companies use symbols to symbolize what their businesses are about; therefore, other businesses might be using a glass to represent their products too.
Visual Effect of the Logo
The logo contains a symbol of a glass which represents what the product and services that the bar offers, the name of the business and a two-word description of the business, these details make it easy for potential and current customers to easily identify it. It uses a bold and bright color and font to capture the eye. The logo fits the clients brief since it clearly shows what the products and services the client offers, the name of the business and what category of business the client deals in.
Assumptions and Observations Made
While designing the logo, it was assumed that the logo is unique and no other cocktail companies were using the same design. It was also assumed that as simple as the design is it would attract more customers, it would also be memorable.
It was observed that the cocktail bar attracted more people since the logo was adopted
The first image contains a single color with more emphasis on the silhouette. It was the starting point while designing the logo. The second image contains the colored logo which is the final design of the logo.
