Introduction

According to Summerville (2017) radiation is a process through which energy is given off from particles in the form of a wave. The emission of these waves results in an ability to ionize different molecules that means that it can cause a molecule to either gain or lose an electron.

Miakotko (2017) The various uses of the smartphone include using them for pictures, videos, personal information, and other essential data in the normal carrying out of their businesses. The smartphones are enabled with computing abilities that help users, for example, to access the internet using their phones with ease. The light emitted from the phones causes radiation, however, the percentage is minimal since the new gadgets are enabled with LCD which help to reduce the rates of radiation activities that occurs as a person uses a mobile phone. Spending less time due to the little number of electromagnetic rays would help to deal with the radiation that occurs as a result of using mobile phones and other gadgets.

Moysich (2018) in her article explains that and mobile phones do not work at a level of absolute zero on the contrary; they believe that they emit blackbody thermal radiation just like all other well-known gadgets. Mobile phones have also contained high-frequency digital electrons that cause radiation. All electronic devices emit some level of electromagnetic radiation. With an increase in the electronic devices due to increased technology the use of such devices which include laptops, computers. Frequent uses of these gadgets cause exposure of the bodies of persons who use these devices are exposed to EMFs. The non-ionizing radiation released from increases a person's carcinogenic risk. It is, therefore, correct from the research that these devices emit radiation especially one that has an adverse effect because it contains non-ionizing radiation.

Christian (2018) in his research explains that there are radiation levels emitted from using screens of gadgets like mobile phones and computers. The explanation is that devices emit EMF radiation which is emitted from devices is not any different from that emitted from the cellular devices. In his research, he explains that there are different types of radiation from the monitors as follows. First is ultraviolet light radiation, x-ray radiation and finally EMF radiation. The nature of the phone determines the type of radiation released. The argument is that just like monitors, cellular phones to emit radiation and that the x-ray radiation is the most harmful radiation released from the old gadgets through the cathode ray tube. The Ultraviolet light is less dangerous than x-ray but can still cause harm. It is from the monitors that have a fluorescent lamp forming part of the light illumination in the monitor. The light strikes a white phosphor causing visible light which sometimes leaks ultraviolet light. EMF radiation is produced in minimal amounts, and it comes from the circuitry. The radiation causes damage over time because it causes destabilization of the oxidant/antioxidant balance in the corner of a rat's eye within a short period.

Research conducted by Harvard (2018) the blue light emitted from the gadgets is truly harmful because it causes some health challenges and therefore people have been encouraged to refrain from continued use of computers and devices that emit the blue light. They first define what the blue light is, and they describe it as the "proliferation of electronics with screens and energy-efficient lighting that increases exposure to the blue wavelengths" Harvard Health Letter (2018 para. 2). The explanation about the blue light is that it saves energy although it produces the blue light which has some health effect although it is efficient because it does not use a lot of energy. The blue light is known to have some radiation levels released from it; therefore, it is not healthy to the body especially the eyes of persons who use the devices emitting blue light.

Krishnan, Zakaria, Khalil and Jofree (2016 p 41) have explained about radiation from electronic devices as a "power beam through one material, or hot material that is shaped is a particle or is a magnetic electro-light or wave." They explain that radiation produced by appliances for example smartphones, televisions, microwaves, monitors and other devices that are currently commonly used by people often. Electronic appliances that offer computing services which are significant to aid in making easier activities carried out each day. The researchers explain that the by-product of using the devices is an electric current flowing between the working gadgets that create Electromagnetic Fields EMF. They are also known as Extremely Low Frequency or Electromagnetic Radiation that causes, for example, electric shock. The radiation affects GaN materials and other gadgets like light emitting diodes and also high electron mobility transistors. There is no information regarding the health effects that the devices may cause to human health.

Another research by Grady (2018) explains that Ultra Violet radiation is not a matter that should be taken lightly. She is of contrary opinion that the mobile phones that we have today have become so common mainly because of the rise in technology levels. The article also explains the Cathode Ray tube that was commonly used with the older monitors and televisions which caused emission of Ultra Violet radiation. The levels of UV radiation from these devices have been explained to be lower than that of the sun. The radio frequency from the phones causes a risk of acquiring cancer since several experiments have been carried out using rats and have been seen to cause tumors. Thus mobile phones release radiation, and prolonged use should be avoided.

Light constitutes of electromagnetic particles that travel in waves that emit energy and vary in strength and length. The shorter the wavelength; the higher the energy produces and vice versa. Blue light is considered to have a short wavelength, and so it creates a higher amount of energy. Therefore, exposure to the blue light is dangerous to the eyes. The research explains that blue lights exist everywhere since even the sky is blue. The artificial sources of blue light are energy-efficient fluorescent bulbs and the LED lights. Due to a significant advancement in technology many electronic devices are advanced and use LED back-light that enhances clarity and brightness of the screen. LED emits a string blue light waves an example of tools that use LED light are smartphones, laptops, televisions, and other appliances. So according to research from the Blue light website (2019) states that these devices emit radiation which affects the health of the users of these devices.

If mobile phones did not emit any radiation, then researcher like Naeem (2014) would not have any information to research on about the levels of the ultraviolet rays from the radiation from electronic gadgets especially the mobile phone. She explains that many people use a mobile phone as a result of increased technology. The research claims that it is exposed to EMF and ultraviolet light that is visible and ELF and also explain that the radiation from the computer can have serious health effects. They provide the health risks that arise from the graduated levels of ELF and EMF that affect humans. The non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation from the mobile phones is released and can be absorbed as a person uses a phone by the tissues that are close to the radiation. The factors from example technology of the phone and the distance between the user and the phone affect the levels of the effect.

From research conducted by Lloyd (2016) there is an explanation about how mobile phones have created worries for many people regarding there are any there any risks that are long. Regarding computers and laptops, there has been research to find out whether there are any health risks that occur as a result of radiation from mobile phones. The research states that indeed there is some bit of radiation released by cell phones in small quantities. However, the study states that there is no link between using phones and suffering from cancer. An explanation about the older computers and their emission of x-ray and from the use of cathode ray tubes which result in radiation emission. The levels are however relatively low and should not be a cause of alarm. The gadgets have been said to be harmless because they are minimal because of the low power in it. World Health Organization took a position regarding the issue terming cell phone radiation as carcinogenic. Therefore indeed the radiation emitted from cellular phones is not a matter to be taken lightly.

Andrew Aarons (2017) in his research explains whether phones emit radiation and says that many health concerns have arisen out of the prolonged use of phones. Mobile phones create and as a result emit electromagnetic fields which are a common of radiation however on the minimal side. In previous times the computers used cathode ray tubes because they were bulky which were common in most offices in the past. The older monitors have now been replaced by slimmer and smaller computers which are common in the offices currently, and laptops too which are liquid crystal display LCD hence are healthier. They emit lower levels of EMF which is not like the cathode-ray tubes. EMF radiation is present but in only some few designed monitors which are still harmful to the health of humans.

Macmillan (2017) in her article has talked about the radiation from electronic devices like mobile phones and computers and says that all electronic devices use radiofrequency energy cellular phones not being an exception. She explains about the two types of electromagnetic radiation which are non-ionizing radiation which is not dangerous to human health and ionizing radiation which is dangerous since it includes x-rays, gamma rays, and ultraviolet rays. She explains that the body takes in both the radiations and says that the ionizing radiation has been found to increase the human body risk to suffer cancer the California Department of Public Health provides guidelines on how to deal with the issue and take precaution. The World Health Organization did state that the radio frequency in electromagnetic gadgets was carcinogenic to the human body from research that was conducted on cellphones and a silent type of cancer of the brain. There still requires more research to be done to ensure that conclusive information about cancer from radiofrequency is confirmed since scientists think that the issue is being overlooked at and causing alarm that is not fully established.
