When this research is complete, it will be easier to identify priorities and the issues that arise on matter pertaining to rights sought by international protection seekers. It is expected that after this study, some of the main themes that will be learned will include the fact that the border externalization policies tend to affect the security of migrants directly. The externalization procedures tend to affect the duration and nature of the legal obligations that are followed by the states hosting these migrants. There is a likelihood of the externalization procedures limiting the mechanisms that are followed when registering the migrants. They may find it difficult to seek and register for asylum for they may be prevented from getting under the jurisdiction of these states.

It is expected that there will be an understanding that the practices and policies undertaken during the externalization procedure can place unequal burdens on some of the states that are receiving the migrants. The wealth of the European states is different, and some of the countries were experiencing financial issues, such as the inability to meet the healthcare needs and failure to improve the quality of education and infrastructures. Therefore, it is not possible to place an extra burden on an economy that is struggling from the internal matters. The nations with few resources are taking to an extra length of seeking resources to offer protection and asylum to migrants.

After undertaking this study, it will be possible to note that violating the rights of asylum seekers and migrants is likely to trigger a wave of complicated issues, for there is a need to comply with the international law. The destination and source countries will become answerable for it is against the international law that nations can offer support towards the commission of an offence. When the destination state is engaging in externalization strategies, it may be termed as rights violation beyond its jurisdiction. It will be noted that the process of asylum-seeking and border securitization can affect the rights of the migrants. Irrespective of their status or location, the migrants have their rights that are supposed to be observed, and they can be implicated by the practices and policies that are involved in the migration-control externalization. During the migration process, these rights are supposed to protect them and ensure that they are getting the care that they deserve, and they are not being exploited. When they are in transit, on sea or on land, when they are getting detained, deported, and when under expulsion, they should be handled like human beings.

The border externalization procedure is highly likely to stop crimes, such as trafficking of drugs and smuggling of other unacceptable commodities. The European states have been relying on the procedure to control the migrants flow into the region. After this study, it will be determined that the region is equipping the third nations’ authorities to enable them to export beyond their shores. It is critical to note that there exist an extra set of laws that offer the migrants more privileges. The child migrants, the people that are freeing war, and stateless people are recognized that they have special status by the international law. While they are on transit, they may encounter issues that may place their safety at risk, such as trafficking crimes and in such instances, they are supposed to get more protection to ensure that they are safe.

When states take part in the externalizing border control, they do strengthen the other nations to ensure that they are intercepting any migrants that may be on transit. International laws allow people to seek asylum, and it is these regulations that cover their safety and ensure that it is observed all the time.

After this study, it will be possible to learn the similarities and differences that exist between the externalization programs that are adopted in Australia, Europe, and the United States. The Australian government holds that the migration to the country cannot be realized by simply arriving into the country and getting incorporated into the system. The country has in the past declined to offer refugees asylum, and it has resulted to detaining them, but it should be noted that only a small number has managed to get a chance to remain in Australia as refugees. The policy and practices adopted by this state have become a common feature in industrialized states and the externalization regime adopted include intercepting people, detention, and processing their details.

Australian engages in offering information and deterrence campaigns that are run in the country of origin, carrier sanctions, visa controls, and offering of incentives and aids to the developing states. These nations are provided with grants in return for their cooperation to stop the movement of people to the country. The United States adopted the interdiction measures mainly to prevent people who were moving from Haiti and Cuba from entering the country. The nation has applied the externalization measures on its southern border, and this is coupled with the aid withdrawal and trade sanctions threats.

The measures taken by these two states attracted the European nations, and they were willing to take similar measures and externalization strategies. Turkey is one of the states that adopted these policies, and it obstructed the movement of Syrian refugees in exchange of rewards from the European Union (EU). Different European states and the EU have in the past offered funding and training to the coast guards in countries, such as Libya with the primary aim of intercepting and detaining the asylum seekers that are trying to cross the Mediterranean.
