I have a great passion for pursuing Tech/Software engineering. I have had this passion since I was in college, but many discouraging factors forced me to undertake another career. First, my decision came too late, making it hard to change from marketing/sales to Tech/software engineering. Given this opportunity, I am confident that I will utilize my potential in the field of software engineering to promote technology, especially in disadvantaged rural areas. More so, I will utilize my skills and experience to promote the advancement of technology across all sectors of the economy. Therefore, given this chance with "Career Reinvention Scholarship," I will ensure that moving forward, my input is felt in industries, healthcare, governance, agriculture, and security surveillance because I will work so hard to invent and innovate many technological ideas that would boost the running of these sectors.

Personally, I took marketing/sales as a result of pressure from my parents and the community. They really emphasized that I should venture into the field, and going against them would be a great taboo and disrespect of the highest degree. However, the sales and marketing field has never been my passion since the beginning. Venturing into the field can even prevent me from achieving my goals of helping the community. A tech/soft engineering will open my brain so that I can think beyond boundaries to contribute positively to my community and the world at large.

Initially, I had received several negative opinions from people who have consistently discouraged me from taking a course in the tech workforce. They usually purport that it is not easy to secure a job because of the high competition in the job market. I did not have a relative or a good friend or even any role model in the field of tech workforce who could easily offer me guidance regarding the discipline. Moreover, there are no engineering schools in our vicinity. This situation discouraged me so much in the past, but I later realized that negative criticism was meant to destroy my ambition. I realized that all my passion lies in the technology discipline, and I am capable of delivering the best outcomes if I advance in a technological career.

My passion has always been to help my community. I will use the new knowledge to provide internet-enabled machines or devices to my community. Sensitizing people on the role of technology, especially in accelerating development, would be my priority. Ensuring that every community member acquires digital literacy will be my main objective. I will endeavor to build a computer learning institution where everyone would study free of charge. After I secure a high-status job, it would be my responsibility to sponsor and educate several students in the same field. This way, my community would advance and match the status of more advanced regions within the United States.
