Introduction
As a project leader, it is in my power to get the team members to work together for the success of the project and also nurture an environment where the team can innovate by aiding communication with them and stakeholders throughout the project. Politics in projects are inevitable because it is rarely possible to keep everyone happy, and such a situation will require a strong will and some tough decisions to resolve the situation (Gotterbarn et al., 2018). In an ethical aspect, communication is the key to protect the project's needs.
Factors that may have implications to my project are mainly on social factors like cultural norms, friends, and a political opinion which may lead an individual to decide wrongly or ignore project's need because of political differences. Individual factors like personal goals, values, knowledge, and morals may provide an unethical member with freedom of choice that may lead to bad decisions leading to loss of team's dignity.
The qualities that make me an effective leader are; Self-confidence which enables me to influence others and also believe in them and their input (Pinto, 2013). Another one is Integrity and willingness to exert energy to achieve a goal. The desire to change others by showing my willingness to accept my leadership and an authority above me is another quality I use to build trusting relationships and to influence others. My ethical and moral character makes it easy, to be honest with my team, and lastly, having the relevant knowledge to understand and know the entire operation well enough to lead others. I am an authentic leader because I always approach my leadership with an emphasis in building legitimacy.
My responsibility provides overall ownership for a decision made or one that fails to make, provide respect as high regard to oneself, others, and the resources allocated to us. Fairness entails working not to self-interest or favoritism but to make decisions and act objectively (Rath et al., 2008). Honesty enables my team to understand the truth and serve truthfully in both conduct and communication. Analyzing and managing risk has been a challenge since hiccups are inevitable (Gotterbarn et al., 2018). Also, operating reports and necessary documents has been a challenge because the project had no clear outline of handling reports.
