The privacy of the person influences the relationship between the person and the close friends; friendships face different situations. There are those friends that release their personal information to their friends, and there are those that share their personal information with their friends (Rachels, 1975). In my personal view, friends are formed to achieve different objectives. There are things that bring people together; hence the information that needs to be released to friends is the information that relates to the objective of the information. Controlling the information will enable the friendship to last longer by eliminating the conflicts that arise. People need to be aware that the information that they release to the public has effects.

The value of privacy is that it protects the person from exposing close family members who might want to maintain their privacy. For instance, when a parent releases personal information regarding their families and children is against the privacy rights of their children because they have not given the consent to release the information regarding the children (Rachels, 1975). People need to understand that they should respect the privacy rights of other people, even other family members. Rachel argued that different situations should be considered before deciding whether to release personal information or not.

Rachel believed that privacy reduces the adverse consequences that people experience when they do not have privacy. People have the power to control the information that gets released to the public (Rachels, 1975). Privacy is the foundation of a strong united society because people respect the rights of other people. Cyberbullying is increasing because of sharing personal on social media, increasing the opportunity of cyberbullies to attack and individual. The value of privacy in respect of individuals' rights.

Privacy matters when using social networking sites, there are policies that guide the networking sites and other forms of media to ensure they maintain privacy at all times. Children under the age of 18 years and contents that are private are supposed to be respected in terms of respecting other people's lives before the information is spread (Rachels, 1975). The terms and conditions are used when taking action against anyone that prohibits the law on respect for privacy and other people's rights. The right to privacy is one of the fundamental human rights in the bill of rights; therefore, all people and institutions are expected to respect the right to privacy of other people.

Privacy also entails the accessibility of private information by third parties who do not have permission to access the information. There are various measures taken to control the access of information, such as the use of passwords to ensure that the information is not accessed by unauthorized personnel (Rachels, 1975). People need to protect their password and other security features to ensure that their private information is not accessed by unauthorized personnel. Some personal information protected and sensitive, including business information that should not be accessed by unauthorized personnel. Even companies have private information that they protect the operations information. People need to use various techniques to safeguard their data.

Conclusion

In conclusion, privacy is one of the significant factors of value that needs to be protected and respected by all the people. People need to recognize its importance and the role privacy plays in maintaining relationships and ensuring that companies run well. Information shared out with the public needs to be filtered to take out personal and sensitive information that might be used by other people for selfish interests. Understanding the importance of privacy helps in reducing the threats that people expose themselves to when sharing personal information.
