Introduction
Over many years there existed some controversies about the origin of pornography in the world. It involves men causing abuse women or vice versa. In modern society, the world has experienced a high number of young men that have been sabotaged to pornography because their brains are virtually marinated in porn, especially when they are at adolescence (Shoemaker, 2014). The modern generation has consumed so many explicit contents with the quantities and several possibilities for them being exposed to devices and entirely to advanced technology at tender ages. Research has shown that it is complicated to change the minds of young people permanently, especially they grow up (Manaf et al., 2014). The essay shows the role pornography has played in modern society and the negative effect it has on marriages.
In the past years, people have been obsessed with sex no matter if they are in love, or they are doing it for pleasure or procreation. Indeed, most of the people are fascinated with sex so profoundly. Social media and art are some of the forms used to portray humanity's nakedness. Through time, there has been a representation of sex constantly with the changing dawn of time. The Internet has dramatically boosted the evolution of pornography in modern society (Shoemaker, 2014). With the advancement in technology, more people are integrating and getting connected, meaning with no doubt pornography has reached with them may be in the way or another.
The darker the world is becoming especially for young people with the increased portrayal of sex through pornography. Many controversies such as religion, social behavior, politics, psychology, and marriage intimates are having problems (Manaf et al., 2014). It is essential to understand all the effects both negative and positive of pornography and the state it has left our society looks like.
Psychoanalysis of Pornography to Men
Biopsychological research shows porn is more appealing to mean because their success in reproductions depends on several women they have inseminated (Freud, 1977). In his study, he noted that women physical appearances are reaching feature which men use to evaluate the reproductive health of a woman. Most of the men are then attracted to young women; having busty breasts, have a plump butt and curvy hips.
However, there are some changes in the modern environment for men. Primary reproductive instincts have remained the same, even with the evolution of pornography. Positively, pornography helps to solve current men's problems, especially in the stimulation with sex and having multiple sex partners without the risk of commitments, pregnancy, or contaminating diseases.
Effect on Male's Brains
As noted earlier, it is challenging to erase pornography pictures or minds from young people even when they grow old. When men see these pornographic images, they produce surge dopamine, which is released in the brain and is responsible for certain human behaviors. The behavior could include creating pleasant feelings to satisfy their bodies. Pornography from the internet stimulates the brain because it makes a person get engaged directly. Several cameras are usually used so that they can focus on actions and make men feel that they are having sex by just watching.
The reason why men have strong neurological responses to pornography in comparison to women is that they align their sexual interest and desire more. Men want sexual stimulation without the threat of commitment, or without considering things like unwanted pregnancies or diseases. Our culture offers less understanding of sex and intimacy between two people (Clatterbaugh, 2018). As a result, different forms of sex have come out, including lesbianism between two ladies and gays between men with fellow men. Those men who can't find girlfriend look at pornography for intimacy satisfaction. Arousal is understandable for sexual intimacy because it needs couples to have interpersonal connections between the two (Clatterbaugh, 2018). A man-woman relationship, the man, must value the context of his partner.
Why Women Watch Pornography
Women watch pornography entirely for a different reason for men. Most of them want to use to explore sexuality by connecting their sexual identity with their partners. Women who watch porn are said to be more focused on the partners and not only consider sex for sexual stimulation (Clatterbaugh, 2018). To get please sex from men, women usually look at behavior models and specifically how sex should look like.
Someone's personal sexual experiences play essential roles in what influences sexual desire and what men expect from women. Men are likely to predict the behavior learned from porn during specific sex acts. However, porn can be too dangerous for young users and viewers. Research done in 2008 showed that teens below 15 years of age acted at least 70% of porn seen on the internet. Between the ages of 12 to 20, the generation is said to be undergoing a malleable phase whereby so many synaptic connections pop out, which influence and stimulate their sexual desire.
Similarly to the statistics, students who watch porn in college express a more significant desire for partners who have dominated them. Pornography can help concerning whereby those involved would have experience in experiencing in the bed. Some characters note that porn makes them comfortable, especially when they want to voice their desires. Those who depend on porn to get sexual education tend to have real-life more experience of sexual activity with their partners.
Problems With Use of Pornography
Even though porn has some education to the users, it causes more harm, especially to the real-life sexual relationship. When people use it as a coping mechanism for stress, it can be a big issue. Klein (2018) noted that in the world, at least 30% of men who use porn are ease of boredom and stress, and they would rather be alone most of the time. They can have sexual depression as compared to women who do.
For men, it is a particular case whereby the depression has to go down when they reach severe levels. A person struggling from addiction from porn may not have regular sex drives because back, something is driving them or motivating them. Other people may use pornography to create a fantasy that helps them overcome traumatic events. Stress is, therefore, a motive for sexual pleasure but as well can put one into addiction problems.
Pornography on Marriage
Pornography effects on marriage are increasing each day and are devastating. Watching porn when an allowed to fester in our lives, erodes slowly by slowly our rational senses and our souls. Marriages are affected when outside sexual influences are introduced to them. As the outside influence persists, the marriage falls into despair (Poulsen et al., 2013). Porn undermines everything being achieved by marriage partners. It is now becoming a social concern on the impacts witnessed at several weddings.
A genuine passion for sex is destroyed by pornography in marriages. Perfect marital sex does not involve styles, stamina, or experience, which are shown in pornography. Great marital sex is made up of the genuine passion erected by two people in love connecting in the top physical form of intimacy. Pornography users value sexual relations as necessary compared to emotional involvements, and they experience the decline of privacy from their marriage partners.
Pornography lowers love between two married couples and mostly affects women. After a long period of watching the women, shown in the pornography, husband undermines their women, and the love becomes lesser. The effects affect the wives by stressing them without finding a perfect solution (Poulsen et al., 2013). The wives of men addicted to phonography show psychological injuries. They experience the feeling of betrayal, mistrust, and loss after realizing that their husbands are addicted to porn. Wives feel unattractive to their former loving husbands and may suffer depression after the discovery of the external sexual stimulator of their husbands. The stress levels might increase, leading to trauma, which calls for clinical attention.
Pornography causes emotional separation between couples. The porn viewers assume watching the original tapes as same as having an affair. When viewing pornography becomes a habit, it has some mere consequences that destroy the marriage (Poulsen et al., 2013). Addiction will lead to a large number of addicts losing their spouses, suffering a significant financial loss, and loss of jobs. Addiction to pornography is equal to addiction to drugs.
Watching cybersex, makes the viewer lose interest in sexual intercourse and turn affects the other partner who also loses interest. The result will lead to losing the meaning of the marriage, and separation is announced (Poulsen et al., 2013).
Continuous exposure to pornography nurtures dissatisfaction with the spouse's affection. Beliefs and new attitudes emerge, such as maximum sexual pleasure could be achieved without the friendship of each other. It applies to both wives and husbands who are exposed to prolonged pornography who complains of the decline of sexual enjoyment as a result of dissatisfaction with spouse usual sexual behavior.
Pornography users have a declining belief in marital faithfulness as they view marriages as sexually restricting. They begin to have mistrust with marriage institutions as a vital social institution and doubt about future importance. The doubts and beliefs will affect the essence of having a happy family relation and diminishes the importance of their parents.
The use of pornography increases the infidelity level in marriages. Frequent use phonography by husbands causes abandonment of fidelity to their wives. The same applies to wives addicted to porn, have many sex partners outside the marriage. A person is not satisfied by the marriage partner and searches for pleasure outside the marriage. Another cause of infidelity due to pornography watching will be the quest to have sexual relations with a person resembling the porn actor.
Addiction to pornography is a significant contributor to cases of divorce and separation. The likelihood of separation is high to husbands and wives who involve pornography watching as part of their life activity. As mostly photography is viewed online, users spend a lot of time with computers and chatting rooms, eventually leading to separation or divorce. Also, the addicted partner will have an obsessive interest in pornographic sites causing conflict in the marriage. The final result will be a divorce or separation.
Pornography causes selfish behavior for porn users. They think about how to get sexual pleasures but not giving sexual pleasure to their partners. It involves immediate gratification, and thus, pornography users, focus majorly on satisfying their wants. The spirit of always keeping your priorities first leads to the collapse of relationships. It contradicts a real marital intimacy whereby each should give themselves to the marriage. People who are addicted to phonography rarely be gentle, sex often impersonal, and forced.
Pornography leads to decreased sexual performance by impairing sex life. Porn leads to complications in marriages, for instance, premature ejaculation and disinterest in their spouses, difficulty reaching orgasm, and erectile dysfunctions. Pornography users beliefs that watching they improve their sex life, and it's a lie (Camp & Mills, 2012). Instead, pornography wrecks the libido of the viewer. Porn leads to lousy sex or some men; the entire ability to have sex is finished.
The prolonged use of phonography alters the brains. It changes one's brain and...
