Introduction
The main role group that will be engaged in this policy train plan are the directors of the health facility. One of the strategies that will be used during the training to ensure that the group buys in supports as well as be prepared to implement the policy is to give them the time brainstorm to understand the policy well (Dannapfel, & Poksinska, 2014). The second strategy that will be used for this role group is to focus on the strength of the policy which in this case the policy aims at reducing the number of patient falls in the hospital. The third strategy that will be used is to provide a case of a health facility whereby the policy has been implemented and it has been successful in the improvement of health care services.
The evidence-based strategies that will be used to engage with this role group during the training session is to compare other health care facilities that have implemented this policy (Grol et al. 2013). This evidence-based strategy will indicate the success or the changes that have been experienced which have improved the provision of services to the clients.
During the training, I will ensure that the group buys in, supports and gets prepared to implement the strategy by educating them on the advantages of the policy being implemented. Also, I will ensure that they are convinced that the cost of the policy is cheap and it can be implemented without any financial constraints.
There are various training activities as well as the materials that will be required to support learning and skill development. The main training activity that will be used is group discussions so that the members of the groups can discuss the policy. The main material that will be used is the policy template whereby the group members will have to use it for reference during the training program so that they can understand every aspect well.
The annotated agenda and outline for the two-hour workshop will be as follows:
Annotated Agenda
- 9:30 am- 10:00 am Arrival and Registration of members
- 10:00 am -10:30 am Introduction of the Members
- 10:30 am- 11:00 am Activity 1 The members are issued with the policy templates and divided into groups so that they can discuss among themselves.
- 11:00 am-11:30 am Activity 2 The members present their ideas concerning the policy change.
- 11:30 am-12.00 pm Activity 3 Supporting of the ideas of the policy change by convincing the group members of the benefit that it will result in the health care facility.
The main proposed activity is a group discussion. Group discussion will help to support skill learning as well as development because the members will discuss the policy and come up with ideas regarding it. The material that has been identifying to be used is the policy template. During training, the members of the group available will be issued with the template of the policy which they will read on their own and understand the proposed change.
The policy and practice guidelines that will have to be implemented is to increase the number of medical personnel. The medical personnel will be increased in terms of gender to ensure equality. This increase will ensure that patients are watched closely so that the number of falls experienced in the health facility can reduce.
This policy will affect the group's daily routine as well as responsibilities in positively. The number of staffs will be increased which means that there will be less task to be completed as more people are handling the jobs. This aspect means that the ration of the patient to the health care personnel will be reduced. There will be close monitoring of the patients to reduce the number of patient falls. However, the routine of the directors who are the role group, in this case, will change because they will have to coordinate a large number of employees.
The main example that can be used to illustrate the nature of the change in this policy and practice guidelines is that when the number of health care staffs is increased, it means that more attention will be offered to the patients. When the patients are monitored closely, they are protected from frequent falling and reduce some of the injuries associated with falling.
The important changes in this policy related to this group which will ensure there is improved quality of health care is that the close monitoring of patients will ensure they are given adequate attention. The patients who are given adequate medical attention, they will recover from the conditions that are affecting them. When patients are able to recover fully from their ailments, it is an indication that the quality of health care service is good.
Undertaking these changes that have been stated in the policy is important because they will improve the quality of health care. The increase in the number of medical staff ensures that there is close attention as well as monitoring to the patients.
The example that will be used to illustrate to the role group is the case whereby is a hospital has few medical staff, the attention that will be given to different patients will be minimal. This issue means that there are some patients whose condition might worsen leading to death. On the other hand, when the number of medical staff is high, every patient will be monitored closely and proper attention will be granted to him or her.
The directors are the role group undergoing this policy training. The main role that they will play in the implementation of this policy is that they will provide all the resources as well as the finances that will be used to ensure the policy is used within the health facility (Hill, et al. 2018).
This role group buy-in and support in the implementation of this policy is important because they are the top authority (Bhavnani, et al. 2017). Being the topmost authority in the organization, the directors are the ones to decide the activities that are undertaken within the facility and provide the required resources. Also, the work of this group in implementing that changes in important because it can influence the whole organization to move towards the direction of that particular change.
The best way that will make the group feel empowered in their involvement of the change is to provide the directions in which the policy will be implemented and provide assistance when any problem is experienced.
The complex policy consideration for these role groups is that they should ensure all the steps are followed and that this policy is implemented correctly. Also, the group should ensure that they provide all the required resources on time for the smooth implementation of the policy.
After this training has been conducted, there are certain outcomes that are expected. One of the outcomes is that the role group will have understood the policy well. The second outcome is that the role group will understand the policy and be ready to implement in within the health facility (Gershengorn, Kocher, & Factor, 2014).
