After the invention and discovering of photography, the police department adopted the use of photographing of criminals that were around 1840 to help in identification and to maintain records of the criminals for investigation (Kersten and Earles 2017, pp.93-104). Currently, a mug shot is taken after a person is arrested for being used as a booking photograph. This is to allow for photographic records, which will be used to identify.
Reflection of the Photo Blogs
A Photograph can be a form of art since we have to dig deep into our imaginations to identify the hidden meaning and connect it to the current situation or even refer to it in the future. One needs to know the appropriate angle to capture a perfect shot that can easily be used as a reference in the near future.
For example, from the photos, we can notice that the person looks different from the mug shot taken by the police. In the first photo, we realize that the person has applied to make up, and this has changed the appearance of the mug shots (Oakley 2012, p.21). The use of makeups before committing a criminal offense has always been a more significant change when applying a mug shot on the identification of an individual (Wolfe 2013, p.11). By observing the photo, we notice that the lady seems to be under some influence or is experiencing violence. We can use the images to draw meaning and conclusion at every shot.
Reflection of the Video
We predict the use of video will soon dominate the application of mug shots or in the creation of contents since it is a way to consume content in a large area. The impact of a viral video is recommendable and engages viewers. For example, the created vides shows a woman who may have been either mugged or experienced violence. I believe that the video can capture viewers' attention and has the potential of getting shared randomly, and the victims can find focus. The bruises on the girl's face make the viewer ask for an answer and even try to connect the meanings.
Reflection on the Podcast
The podcast is expertly designed with a welcoming introductory part. The creation made in an interactive, quit way to engage the audience. The podcast can make a listener feel like part of the program since it is very engaging and lures more listeners to ask more questions with hopes of being answered. However, I tend to feel that the tonal variation is relatively poor because it does not fully engage the emotions of the listeners, and one may never quit connecting one question being answered to the other.
Conclusion
Even though there are a lot of benefits to the application of content creation, I don't fully believe that the execution is perfect because different factors can result in different content. It is likely to be challenging issues for the designer to identify the right content to fit the audience, such as in event organization. Nonetheless, content creation is a trending issue in the field of communication, as many people embrace technology.
