Introduction
People have different behavior and personalities. Both can be changed by any individual by reading and interacting with other people. The discussion which follows tries to show to people—former United States of America president Barrack Obama and Harvard psychology professor Brian Little. Five factors will be discussed to explored, conscientiousness, emotional stability, extraversion, openness to experience, and agreeableness, to give difference stand on personalities and behavior.
Conscientiousness describes a person who is responsible, dependable, persistent, and organized. Barrack Obama can be termed accountable and established, from the responsibilities he has assumed over time. For instance, the speech he gave in 2004 was well articulated. On the other hand, when he gave his talk in Ted Talk, Brian Little presented an organized individual (Parks& Guay,2009).
The second factor is emotional stability. Individuals with emotional stability are calm, self-confident, and secure. President Barrack Obama is self-confident as supported by the fact that he took a bold step to declare his presidential candidature. Obama was optimistic about clinching the hot contested democrat's primaries. On the other hand, Brian Little posed himself has not confidence since he has not made any effort to move out of the cocoon of an introvert (Thomas, 2008).
Extraversion is another factor. Extraversion captures our relationship approach towards the social world. Extraversion gives a clear difference between introverts and extroverts. Barrack Obama can be termed as extrovert from the way he behaves and his association with other people. Brian Little has confirmed himself introvert from the speech he delivered in Ted Talk platform (Ribes-Iñesta & Sosa, 1992)
The fourth factor is openness to experience. President Barack Obama is open to experience from the way he handled the 2008 financial crisis. On the other hand, Brian Little is not free to experience since he has not tried to defeat introvert personality.
Lastly, agreeableness joins individual personalities with the ability to defer to other people. Barrack Obama was an agreeable person, Obama won the trust of Americans and the way he handled foreign affairs point out his cooperation with other global leaders. Brian Little has confirmed himself as an introvert, and this lowers his collaboration with other people.
In a nutshell, from the discussion of the above factors, it is clear that individuals differ in behavior and personalities.
