Introduction
QuickBooks is a software package in accounting that has been developing and packaged by Intuit (Shelton, 2018). The software is also used in sales and expenses management and helps in keeping track of the business transactions. QuickBooks products are mostly directed to medium sized businesses and small sized businesses and have offers on cloud-based versions and on-premises accounting applications that will accept payments in a business, manage, pay bills and play the payroll functions (Ivens, 2009). QuickBooks can also be used in invoicing customers, generating reports for tax filing and planning and paying bills (Etnyre & Lehmann, 2015). QuickBooks are not only meant to be used in companies but can also be used for personal financial management.
Sage 50 is, on the other hand, a software in business management. The software is distributed by the SAGE Group who sold it to the USA (Shelton, 2018). The product is, however, a subscription-based product. Sage- 50 that was previously known as Peachtree had its data format converted and availed when simply accounting was eliminated from the market. Sage 50 and QuickBooks are both accounting software, but they have some differences which will be discussed in this paper.
The two software are different in such a way that the pricing of Sage 50c includes cloud access and annual or monthly subscription and direct pay are available for every user login (Boylan, Philipp & Latini, 2018). The quick book is a cloud-based solution, and one pays a monthly subscription fee. For QB one cannot pay an annual subscription, only monthly subscriptions are available. In support of their customers, they give them a free thirty days trial (Fridell, 2018). The contract terms for the two accounting software because Sage 50 needs a long-term contract that will be paid for annually or monthly (Ivens, 2009). Payment for this software most is made timely to prevent cancellation. The general description of sage 50 and QuickBooks are also different sage50 (Shelton, 2018). Sage 50 is said to be easy to use accounting, especially for the new upcoming businesses. However, it can also be scaled to work with an accounting of big companies. The QuickBooks were the pioneers of the use windows which make every thin seem like it is in real life (Shelton, 2018). Thus, that means that QuickBooks can be used in all businesses and is suitable while dealing with the most financial issue in business whether small or big (Etnyre & Lehmann, 2015). The application offers most features that a business could ever need. Using QuickBooks, in this case, has more advantages over Sage50 which has limited uses in most business promises (Ivens, 2009).
QuickBooks does not need any contract for like Sage 50 for the cloud-bed deployment the QuickBooks subscriptions require to be renewed every month (Shelton, 2018). Also in the upfront costs, the two soft wares still differ in a way that additional fees only apply on training and implementation in Sage50. For QuickBooks, the additional charges may only apply on data migration. The recurring costs for Sage 50 have the fees that apply for maintenance, add-ons, support and user upgrades or updates ("Compare Sage 50 vs. QuickBooks", 2018). For QuickBooks, fees are used for the add-on, premium support, and usage update or upgrades (Hur, 2018). That also makes QuickBooks seem to best-concerning payment compared to the Sage 50.
