Introduction

Randolph township is based in Norfolk county to the east of Massachusetts. It begun in 1710 and it was then known as Cochato. It was then a single town with Braintree until it was separated in 1793. The city was renamed later on as Peyton Randolf from the name of the first president of the Continental Congress. Randolf began as a shoe-manufacturing center, which later developed to be a residential center with minimal manufacturing, services, and retail (City-Data, n.d.). Randolf town is a town based in Norfolk County in Massachusetts. It has a population of about 32, 158, according to the 2010 census. Also, the location of the town provides it with an excellent highway, air, and rail infrastructure. The average income for a household in Randolph is $55,255and the mean family income ranges at $61,942. The average income for the females was $32,500, while the males had $41,719 (City-Data, n.d.). The annual income is $23,413 for the entire town. There are almost 5.5% of the families, and 6.5% of the number of people are under the poverty line, which includes 4.5% who are under the age of 18 while 5.0% for the people 65 years and over. In my analysis, the number of people that were infected with COVID-19 in Norfolk County stood at 6,887 cases. The number of cases in Randolf Township stood at 367 cases (City-Data, n.d.).

With this information, I found that the township required education to ensure that proper steps are taken by the citizens in the town to reduce the amount of infection. The community is faced with a complex problem. There is a high population of people, and this means in education absence, the virus will spread easily across the town and among the people in the town. If the citizens are provided with proper information on how to control the spread of the virus and informed on social distancing, hand washing, and the precedents to the spread of the virus. As well as being provided with proper information on the best way to change their behaviors, there will be a continuous decrease in the number of new infection around the townTeaching Plan

Target Population

The target population that will be educated regarding this information will be young to middle-aged adults 18-40 years of age. This would also target parents with children. There will be an exclusion of older adults due to the risk of exposure to coronavirus. I aim to educate these adults to allow them to pass information to the other older adults and to inform the kinds on the best way that they have understood.

Diagnosis

The diagnosis I have made is n the continuous spread of the coronavirus in the township and the health risk it poses to the community. This is caused by the continued interaction and lack of information on the modes of spreading f the disease and the absence of information on the preventive measure that could be taken (City-Data, n.d.).

Goals

Provide information on the facts of COVID 19: What is coronavirus or COVID 19, its cause, how it spreads, and prevention measures.

Provide a properly developed plan on how to prevent the spread of the disease

Provide information on the importance of hygiene

Influence the best approach on the provision of education to ensure that the citizens make a positive change

Teaching Topics

What is the coronavirus?

Coronavirus is also known as COVID-19, is a communicable disease that is caused by a strain of a virus known as the coronavirus (Adhikari et al., 2020).

Majority of people that fall sick from the disease will experience mild to moderate symptoms and can recover without the need for special treatment (Chang, Yan, & Wang, 2020)

How does the coronavirus spread?

The virus that leads to the disease is mainly spread to droplets from sneezing, coughs, and exhalation from an infected person. These droplets are often heavy, and they fall on the surfaces and floors fast (Chang, Yan, & Wang, 2020).

Infections often begin from breathing the virus, and mostly when one is in the proximity of those that are already infected with the virus, or through contact with infected surfaces that eventually contact mouse, nose, and eyes (Adhikari et al., 2020).

How to avoid the spread of coronavirus?

It is recommended that to stop the spread of the virus, there is need to wash hands frequently, using sanitizers composed of 70% alcohol, using clean water and soap or detergent while washing hands, covering mouths and nose with elbows and using a tissue papers while sneezing and coughing while also ensuring social distance which can be enacted by sticking at home (Adhikari et al., 2020).

What can I do?

5-Step Plan:

Step 1: Washing hand regularly

Step 2: Avoiding contact with people

Step 3: Use alcohol-based hand sanitizers

Step 4: Staying at home to minimize interactions

Step 5: Ensuring increased social distance

As the test is ongoing, I will conduct a poll using mobile applications to ensure minimal contact and to reinforce the idea of minimal contact. There will be no contact and close group discussions as people will be required to be a meter apart to enforce social distance. Verbal tests will be conducted, and a question and the answering session will be held at the end of the period.

Conclusion

With the use of interaction and question and answer periods during the provision of education in the community, Randolph Township can mitigate the spread of the virus and reduce the rates of infection. The community in the township will be informed on coronavirus, the way it spreads, and the prevention measures of the virus. Randolph Township was diagnosed with an increasing number of infections of the new coronavirus. I recognized the need to inform citizens of the town on the best practices to ensure a reduction in infections and the spread of the virus. The teaching plan I have used aims to reinforce information towards the goals highlighted positively, and it will be delivered in a way that ensures proper understanding and a change in the way people carry on with their lives.
