Introduction

I am a highly organized man. Since I was 6-year-old, I always prepare my bed based on the sense of accomplishment of the first task. Besides, preparing my bed allows me to spend most of my time being productive. Based on my habit of preparing my bed, I began to write when to go to sleep and evaluates the things I would like to do before ending my day. I am also committed to keeping the balance of my meal to enable me to perform as a student and as an athlete since I believe that any source of energy plays a vital role in every type of performance.

From these practices, I acknowledge that I will enhance my quality externally and internally as I would work to be more skillful, grateful, and productive, which advocates for self-confidence and self-love. I would love to improve my social skills by boosting my confidence from the journal and various articles to focus on what I own instead of things I am missing.

Similarly, I would like to improve my non-cognitive skills to allow me to find an-depth meaning in my daily life as something compassionate before my day begins. I believe that the best mindset to have is that which maintains the right level of motivation, which is written in my journal. I would like to keep track of what I eat to improve and strengthen my overall movement. The idea is that I have enough food in my stomach to function correctly and will reduce the amount of stress in the human body. From both my diary and journal, I will be able to change the behavior, self-love, and self-care.

In the context of my family roots, I identify myself as both an Irish and a German. Most of my family members are from German, with only my mother being Irish. I define myself with the two places as where my family descended from based on the stories I head from the trademarks of every family member. In essence, every member of my family has a brown or blue eye and a blonde hair reminiscent of those from Germany. In other words, my family members have fewer traits of Irish.

One of the things that make culture to shape my life is based on the belief that we were cursed by our ancestors. As a young lad growing up, I realized that I have to face the same things as my parent’s health-wise. For that reason, I had to accept the general belief of the family. One of the beliefs that affected me was when a member had a sore throat. Regardless of a person’s age, the infected individual will be given a hot drink that comprises a drop of honey, whiskey, lemon, and tea. Every time any of my family will have a sore throat, my grandmother will give the prescriptions that would work effectively. The other medication was the use of a mix of damp oatmeal and aloe that will be smeared on the body in case of sunburn. My grandmother told us that the medication was vital to keep the skin from peeling and becoming dry. For that reason, cultural practices are stilled being practiced today.

Politically, I would admit that I have learned what can be deemed as realistic and can be addressed by the government. One of the issues that impacted my life was the Flint Water Crisis, which did not have much attention from the federal government. My life changed based on the relationship between the media and political socialization. Initially, I had no clue how politics affected the media, peers, community, school, and family. As a young person, I did not like to judge without knowing who they indeed were, and I did not know that people from the same culture had a similar poetical opinion on specific issues and deem some races as a bad. Politically, I have seen my culture and myself improve over time to have close-minded thoughts over some issues.

My life as a Catholic has been shaped by the three principles, namely, the pursuit of the truth, community, and devotion to the Eucharist. I was profoundly affected by how students and administration interact in a Eucharist school. I wonder why Eucharist is at the Catholic faith’s heart as compared to Catholic school. I believe that school devotion to the Eucharist helped me to understand that students have an in-depth understanding of knowing a person’s presence in the world. I have learned that everything done in Christian life should be centered on love.

Economic factors have impacted my life, especially on making simple choices like demand and supply, which drive every commercial and economic exchange but via economic models’ lens that strives to layout this system by combing psycho-social evaluation and mathematical principles. I realized that discussion is a vital concept as it allows people to evaluate and weigh their thoughts. The concept helps me to gauge what I believe in based on social and political issues that are derived from economic philosophies and theories. My stand among my peers helps me to evaluate, qualify and contrasts my own thoughts. For instance, whenever we discuss monetary issues, I am always learning about currency and how it is applied in the market.

Durkheim and Marx are the two theories that are directly applicable to my life. My life has profoundly been shaped by Durkheim's theory on suicide subject and also a class of inequality by Karl Marx. I believe that my essential needs revolve around shelter and food. Marx examines the unequal power struggle in his theory and how the war led to socialism and communism in later stages. From Marx's perspective, I recognize that the current society, the rich people still are getting richer while the poor continue to live in a devastating stage. I believe that in my country, the situation is even worse as the rich tend to cling to more wealth and power.

I believe that Durkheim is right to argue that suicide also depends on the social dimension despite also being influenced by individual decisions. As a young lad, I realize that some cultural practices can make a person develop suicidal thoughts. Growing up, I realized that my culture constrained me to many issues such as eating, playing, and even worshiping. The exaggerated ordinary practices limited us as children to freely interact with our neighbors. One of the restrictions was not to play on Sunday morning or marry from other cultures. I recognize that under such circumstances, a person would always have a misunderstanding and inaccurate reporting that causes another party to develop suicidal thoughts. Since I understood who I am, I have never been affected by cultural practices.

I believe that racial discrimination and stereotyping of women have shaped my life. At a young age, living in Mississippi made me understand how racial and gender inequality can make spark a lot of hatred and hostility towards a specific race and people. In terms of race, I would say that I have not been impressed by how African Americans have been treated. Living in Mississippi, we sometimes were warned not to play with the blacks. I lived to wonder why they were stereotyped as most of them were my friends. From childhood, I believe that every person has equal treatment and rights. Racial discrimination fueled by police brutality is one of the issues that has impacted my life. I did not understand that police brutality can be orchestrated towards a specific race. For that reason, Protestants usually engaged in war during their demonstrations. As a result, human life and properties are destroyed. Hence, I believe that everybody should be treated equally.

My identity has been shaped by the rise of social movement on gender equality. As a young person, I viewed women as weak objects since they hardly participated in hard labor. In most instances, I will be seen in the field, helping my father perform duties. Although my younger sister would like to help, she would be denied the opportunity. Today, I believe that women can also perform heavy duties. I get my inspiration from Hilary Clinton, who has done a remarkable job as a politician.
