As an individual, my love of learning and desire for teaching was awakened at an early age while I was in elementary school by equally passionate and dedicated teachers who were teaching me made me choose my career at an early age. A love of learning helped me by making me curious. It enabled me to be interested and engaged in a lot of research work, and as a result, I was able to learn new things about how to choose my teaching career as my work, and how to become professionally successful teacher, how I should handle my fellow teachers, my students together with non -teaching staffs within the school. Through the research, I was able to encourage myself that teaching was the field that I wanted to focus on in college.
My history teacher was the reason why I choose teaching as a career. He was the best teacher I ever had in high school. As an individual, I preferred English and Science to History, but he was able to see past the dates and facts and make the subject come to life beyond the primary curriculum. For example, when teaching about a past event, we looked through old newspaper articles about a particular event and then he told us to write our blogs as if we were journalists living during that time. Her unconventional techniques inspired me, and I strive to bring the same passion for innovative ways to learn to my classroom. I always dreamed of becoming a teacher because my teacher was able to make learning so much fun. My teacher fostered within me a desire to learn, challenge myself and explore. I wanted to share that same experience with others and to do that I had to choose the teaching career.
My love of children is another personal life experience that made me choose teaching for a career. While I was student teaching, I had the opportunity to take a student aside to help him with a, particularly tricky math concept that he had trouble understanding. When I was able to show him a different way to approach the problem, and by the end, he was in a position to understand and do different questions with the same concepts correctly I knew that I had chosen the right field.
Schooling Experience Inventory
During my time in high school, I had perfect moments, but the best moments that I've experienced are in a particular class during my senior year. I remember my first presentation in this English class. I didn't want to do it because I knew that I was shy, but finally, I did it, and that one was my best moment. When I went to present, I felt afraid, and then when I performed, how both the teacher and my fellow students concentrated on what I was presenting made me feel so good for the effort, I applied on the project. Through the presentation, I was able to gain the courage of standing in front of a class and this made that moment good because I know that I have to trust me. After the presentation, I decided that I will pursue teaching in college and become a teacher soon.
The best moment in class was when I was in 9th grade in the sixth period. That was when I got into poetry, and spoken word, assigned the "character and scene" class made my life even more significant. My teacher knew that I had little knowledge about poetry since I hated poems since most of the poems are about reading and writing it in the past, she made me do a lot of research before getting into the drama club. That club was fun in many ways. For example; there was this one time where we had to write our plays and poems and perform them in front of all the drama club members. I felt alive, and the creative side of me came out. When I wrote my first poem in my freshman year, I realized that it was fun and unique. Then our team during that time won a trophy and a trip to visit one of the largest museums within the state for being the best. I felt like I wanted to become a teacher so that I can teach other students how to write more and more poems and present them both in class and drama festival seasons.
I would say another of my best school experience that made me choose teaching as a career was in my Spanish class when our teacher decided we would do a class circle for the lesson. She asked us a range of questions which required us to give a more in-depth and honest answer each time, starting with something along the lines of "How are you feeling today?" and ending with "Why do you think that is?" By the end of the class circle, every single one of us had to share our deepest and darkest fears and insecurities. By then, it felt more than just a class and opened my eyes to very different ways of teaching styles. I believe there is much to learn from this experience, both then and now. I have come to deeply appreciate not only the class but the teacher as well. This experience showed me the extent a relationship with your classmates and your teacher can go and to gain such an experience again I had to become a teacher so that I could interact with my students in various ways like having a class cycle with them.
My Story, My Philosophy
Since my childhood, assisting and listening to what others say, whether young or old, made me everyone's favourite in our neighbourhood. I could always help the elderly in my estate whenever I had the chance like delivering them their grocery and taking their clothes to the laundry. My philosophy has still been making everyone close to me happy though offering assistance. In school, I could help my classmates during group discussions and some take away assignments. They could listen to me, and this made me realize I'd leadership skills that could not only help my fellow students but other people in society. It got me thinking a lot about how I can help and make my community better in the future. I resolved to become a teacher to guide and enlighten students to make a brighter tomorrow for them and the society at large.
