Introduction
The degree of the flourishing of any society is determined by society individual values and morals. The prosperity of liberal democracy depends on held certain morals, and civil values by the citizens of that society (Karim & Butt, 2011). However, depending on different individuals' understanding, morals, and values are defined in different perspectives.
Moreover, to my own understanding, my definition of values and morals depends on my understanding in relation to society's firmness. In short, values motivate while morals constrain. This is to say, values define what is important in an individual’s life. While morals advocate what is or is not considered suitable behavior in an individual living. Generally, values refer to what makes an individual desirable or undesirable. They form part of the complex attitude that impacts our behavior as well as the behavior of the individuals with whom we interact. Values guide both individual personal choices as well as their perception of other people's worthiness. While morals refer to specific beliefs, behavior as well as the ways of being derived in doing things. Individual morals are judged to be either morally positive or negative depending on the ethical analysis of either beliefs or behavior. However, individual values are defined by existing morals and beliefs.
To my personal development influence of values and morals, various events, experience as well as teachings have played a big role. For instance, having brought up in a Christian family, I have received a lot of teachings touching on different sections of an ethical society. From the several religious teachings I have been receiving in my local church since, at my tender age of five, I believe to have gained a lot of positive morals relating to the life of a person and also understanding on the other side of the teaching concerning what makes negative moral. Moreover, my participation in various event both education and charity events have influenced the development of my values and morals. May participation in our church youth charity group strengthened my values whereby the event helped me understand the importance of humanity while we were in the process of helping the needy. Further, the way we conducted this event really facilitated to development of my morals. Additionally, my acquired experience since I was thirteen of listening to whoever raises concern to me has also contributed to my personal development of values and morals whereby I believe that all human beings are important and are worthy to be listened to.
Focusing on my personal belief regarding moral and ethical behavior, the two have a lot of impacts in my worldview as well as the behavior. To my understanding, for a person to be considered valid in any society, the individual degree of positive morals and ethical behavior must prevail. Since at my tender age, my personal belief on morals and ethical behavior has impacted my worldview whereby I perceive the two has the definition of my real me to the society. My belief in positive morals and always practicing ethical behavior have contributed to my current behavior that in a way has facilitated me to feel proud of myself. Further, my perception of belief of moral conduct and ethical behavior defines the dignity of individual behavior and the degree of credit accorded to once behavior in society as well as the angle at which one is perceived within society.
In my culture, it is a requirement to demonstrate the highest degree of respect to the elderly and adults despite them their social class or religion. For instance, when introduced to the older members of your family such as the grandparents, older cousins, aunts, and uncles, you must exercise the highest degree of manners while greeting them or otherwise you will be considered disrespectful. Further, when speaking to the elderly in my culture, you have to use specific formal terms other than those you mostly use while addressing your peers. This is because according to my culture addressing the elderly with culture formal terms is considered a very important way of communication and also regarded as respectful. In relation to this, I consider my cultural to have really influenced my behavior since it taught me how I should always respect both the adult and the elderly in our society a condition that has made me be perceived as a polite person by all the people I meet within my life.
In the field of health care, the health personnel are faced with several ethical issues relating to both moral conflict and ethical dilemmas in their process of delivering services. In most cases, moral conflict in health care has emerged from various causes related to beliefs, opinions, and values. These issues of moral conflict mainly occur when the guiding principles of the health care provider are unclear. While the ethical dilemma in healthcare occurs whereby the health care provider is required to make a difficult decision from several ethical components (Marlik & Forrest, 2018). However, to distinguish the two, moral conflict is characterized by various principles related to individual beliefs, opinions, or values but with no single defined ethical option to solve the problem. While the ethical dilemma is characterized by several right ethical components that can be applied in solving the problem but the problem arises in the process of determining which ethical component to use.
For a health institution to be regarded as ethically upright, it must fully certify the three moral concepts that guarantee it trust by any member of society. This concept involves integrity, accountability, and ethical behavior. Integrity in healthcare is regarded as honesty, keeping of one's world as well as the consistency in obeying the set principles of health care professionalism eve under circumstances when it is so hard to do so. On the other hand, accountability in healthcare refers to being reliable and answerable to those who trust the health caregivers who include the patient, fellow health care colleagues, and the society at large. The accountability of a healthcare provider requires putting the interest of the patient in the first line. While, healthcare ethical behavior consists of the application of bioethical fundamental values such as justice, autonomy, and generosity in making decisions concerning medical and healthcare. The ethical behavior in healthcare acts as a multidisciplinary lens for viewing difficult subjects and give a recommendation concerning the course of action. The application of the three concepts in the health care forms a very strong ground for patient health care. This is because three of them address the most essential requirement that every patient would like to be served with. This involves keeping the interest of the patient first, being treated on an honest ground, and being served by the healthcare personnel of good ethical behavior thus assuring justice and generosity is demonstrated to everybody.
