William McRaven's book "Make Your Bed" is based on his commencement speech for the University of Texas graduating class (Davies). In the book, McRaven the ten lessons that he learned from the Navy Seal training. The lessons in the book were therefore based on the spheres of overcoming the seal training trials, albeit the lessons are equally vital in dealing with life challenges, regardless of who a person is.

McRaven's first lesson juxtaposed one starting his/her day with a completed task, which he exemplified with making a bed (Yonocruz). By that, he underlined that the simple actors of making one's bed are likely to lift one's need to start his/her day, coupled with the provision of satisfaction, strength, and comfort. His second lesson, which is my least favorite lesson, underlines that one cannot go at it alone; hence there is a need to find someone to help in the quest to change the world. One, therefore, needs a partner with whom to share life by making as many friends as possible since success depends on others (Nguyen). His third lesson underscored the size of the heart that matters, by getting over being a sugar cookie and moving forward.

McRaven's fourth lesson delved on life's unfairness and the need to drive on, and to deal with life's unfairness as portrayed by the great men and women. Despite the stumbling blocks in life, .one should neither complain nor blame his/her misfortunes. He/she should instead stand tall, look to the future, and drive. The fifth lesson informs the viability of failures in making one stronger; thereby, one should never be afraid of them. In life, one is vulnerable to circuses, which he/she would pay for, albeit there is a need for perseverance as those failures only strengthen and teach. (The Road of Trials) There is there the need for preparedness in the quest to handle the toughest moments in life since true leaders learn from their failures use such failures as lessons to motivate them in making subsequent tough decisions.

McRaven's sixth lesson encompasses one to dare significantly by sliding down the obstacle head first since life is a struggle with high potential for failures. That underlies one of my favorite lessons from Mc Raven. Those who fear failing, hardships, and embarrassments may not achieve their potentials. There is, therefore, the need to push the limits, and albeit occasional setbacks, one should dare significantly to be vast with real possibilities in life (Nguyen). The seventh lesson underlies standing up for the bullies without backing down in the quest to attain goals and be a person with no great courage. The courage possessed by an individual dig deep and would be found in abundance. The eight lesson underscores the need to rise to the occasion by displaying the very best, even in the darkest moments. That encompasses rising above one's fears, doubts, and fatigue and completing the mission no matter how hard it gets. The ninth element is giving people hope by smiling broadly and lifting those around amid one's lowest spirits as tomorrow will be better.

The last lesson underpins never quitting. That is my second favorite lesson since at times, life may put one in a situation that leaving seems easier than continuing. Despite the bad times presented in life, one is always worse than you. One should not fill his days with sorrow, pity orc blaming circumstances as that would worsen the situation (Newsmax). One should also never give up on their dreams and instead stand strong and tall against all the odds as life becomes what you make it, and there is a possibility of making the experience great.
