The withdrawal quest by the United States will affect the overall budget that was previously set towards aiding the poor countries and also the recent exit of Britain from the European Union will also affect the overall ability to raise the required funds (Vaughan, 2018).

Ban Ki-Moon places his argument of the negative consequences of the United States withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement on the fact that the United States is the world largest economy and has vast resources at its disposal which can be used towards the achievement of the Paris agreement in which the United States is supposed to give 1/3 of the total 100 billion dollars that were to be provided to the poor countries. Based on the principle of charity, the argument that the Paris Agreement efforts will be affected by the desire of the United States of America to exit the agreement. It is true that without the financial aid and support from the United States many countries will be discouraged from maintaining the course due to the United States high carbon footprint and their lack of cooperation.
