Children who can have access to the internet as they develop have vast access to the world information that contributes to the positive impact of the internet on children. The internet has a lot of information that can be used for a different purpose by children. Children who use the internet for learning have an advantage over others who do not use it for learning because children who use it for learning have the opportunity to grasp new concepts. Internet enhances creativity in children through the full tutorials that children can take for themselves that aims at obtaining the necessary knowledge to help in the academic wellness of the children.

Through the use of the internet, communications have been much easy for children in the current world. The big data that is found on the internet will have psychological impacts on children's development. The main concern is the impacts of the type of information the child can access that will change their perception of how they view their world. If the child visits the sites that encourage behaviors like racism, sexism, any form of discrimination, and violence, then the child’s perception will have to change. The impact would be worse if the parent did not realize any change in behavior and act sooner. Children’s mind is as delicate as a fragile good, and anything that the child absorbs to the brain has a significant impact on their development.

The internet has freely available adult content and just a click away from both children and adults. Most of the time, when children are on their devices enjoying good things from the internet, they get links that direct them to such websites with adult content. Children, most of the time, enjoy exploring, and they tend to change their focus on such sites with adult’s contents to see the content of such websites. Most children will be addicted to the adult content that they view online such as pornographic videos, which affect them psychologically. In most cases, it takes parents a very long time to realize that their children are viewing adult content online because their children are smart. They will always clear their browsing history or putt their devices in incognito modes while viewing such material.

Rehabilitation of children who are viewing such content is very difficult. In most cases, children will find it difficult to break such news to their caregivers, and they will separate themselves from their friends, teachers, parents, caregivers, or from the things they used to do, and this puts them at risk of getting depressed. For parents to succeed in their parenting, they have to take it as their responsibility to monitor what their children are viewing online to nature a healthy generation.

The impact of the internet on kids is like a coin with two sides. Even though it has positive effects on the development of children in terms of the knowledge that the children can get from it, but the negative side is harsher just in case the child mess up with it. The thought is a challenge for parents to monitor what kids view from the internet, but they should apply modern technologies to follow what their kids see online when they are alone. It is the responsibility of parents to train their children on how to use the internet to avoid even further impacts like cyberbullying from other users.
