Introduction
BizOps is a medium sized organization dealing in the sale of the phone. It involves in the online sale whereby buyers and sellers interact with one another online. Currently, the business is growing more prominent due to an increase in sales volume and sales revenues. As a result, the company is undergoing a restructuring process which requires it to introduce a new line of middle management positions. These positions are needed to be occupied by new staffs promoted by the existing workers. There are very many issues which are associated with the promotion of current teams to new positions. It always stresses not only executives and managers but lower the morale of other workers. Sometimes the development may hurt the business enterprise productivity and overall performance. To encourage a smooth transition, it is necessary to improve employee's loyalty and cross train the line managers to help them get used to new position and also to understand what is required of a good leader.
The new managers should receive professional training on anti-discrimination and diversity policy, code of conduct policy and work health and safety policy. These courses will ensure that new managers are more competent in their roles. They have to undergo through anti-discrimination and diversity policy training to ensure they treat every with due respect and dignity. New managers will have an understanding of anti-discrimination state and federal legislation which protect every worker from discrimination either by gender, sex, race, religion and even marital status. In general, the training will ensure that there is equality among the workers. It is also necessary for new managers to acquire the knowledge on diversity so that they can work with other people from diverse backgrounds. Because BizOps is an enterprise with people from different backgrounds new managers will only work when they know about diversity.
It will be necessary to offer these training to ensure that there is no unlawful discrimination and victimization. This can be achieved when the new managers know how to instill leadership in other workers so that every worker upholds workplace standards of conducts and ensure there is substantial compliance with the company policies and procedures. Also, new line managers will even understand how to address breaches of BizOps policies by first reporting the issue to the manager and finally ensure that a proper course of action is taken immediately.
New managers are also required to learn about work health and safety policies. This will help the BizOps workers to work in a safe working environment as their legislative obligation. Work health and safety policy course ensure that every employee understands the safety measures and procedures required in case of danger. Finally, it is necessary to train new managers in the professional code of practice. They should be taught on the importance of confidentiality, accountability, and integrity. Also, new managers must understand that they are required not to have a conflict of interest and also not to engage in a noncompetitive behavior such as smoking and gambling. These practices may influence other workers to involve in unethical activities that can lead to job termination. Based on the analysis above, it is necessary for new managers to undergo all these courses because BizOps is a diverse organization which requires workers to learn to work in a different background. New managers are also recommended to treat every worker with respect and dignity by ensuring there is equity in the organization. This can be fostered through training managers on anti-discriminatory laws and policies and appropriate course of action to address discrimination.
Work health and safety policies are also a fundamental course to offer to new managers. They should even understand how to improve safety standards which give workers the opportunity to work in a safe working condition. Finally, it is recommended to offer training on the code of practices such as confidentiality and involvement in non-competitive conducts. It will ensure that new managers do not violate their professional law of practice. This, therefore, increases the morale of other workers and ensure there is no violation of the rights of other workers.
Conclusion
On a personal basis, the research process used was very comprehensive and in-depth. It was necessary to collect relevant information about leadership training course options that new managers are expected to undertake. It ensured that the correct information was obtained which was capable of giving vital information about the right course options required of the new managers. There was some information which was collected online while other were collected directly through the interview. In the process of conducting interviews, it was possible to understand the kind of skills and knowledge new managers require before offering training. On a personal basis, there is a belief that it is the best research process that would provide the best outcome for this research. It gives the respondents an opportunity to present their opinion on the kind of knowledge they require and also gives the researcher a chance to identify appropriate course options that new managers should undertake to improve their professional development.
