Institutional and team structures are progressively more dynamic and complex, which complicates the responsibilities of a team leader and the subsequent efficacy of a team leader. Despite all these obstacles, effective leaders have various roles in the organization. For instance, leaders steer the team towards achieving the objectives and goals of a group or a company (Roberts & Westville, 2008). Leaders implement a mission, vision, defining the goals, providing guidance, as well as motivating their juniors to attain the objectives as outlined in the vision of the team or an institution (Pradeep, & Prabhu, 2011). A leader should be destined towards ensuring the team or the company becomes successful in undertaking its mandate to society. An effective leader plays a role in facilitating the attainment of the mission and vision of the group.

Consequently, a leader will illustrate different characters, competencies, and skills for the juniors and followers (Pradeep, & Prabhu, 2011). Moreover, a leader takes the role of presenting the grievances of a team to the relevant authority in case of a crisis and an issue within a team. In the companies, leaders provide the role of giving direction to be followed by the team or the organization.

However, there are pros and cons to effective leadership. For instance, an effective leader is useful in setting the direction for the team because of such leaders understand the mission, vision, and objectives of the institution. Effective leadership stimulates the effectiveness of the team as well as the organization by motivating and inspiring workers of the companies. Leaders will communicate clearly, which influences the organization( Fry & Kriger, 2009). Effective leadership stimulates the team’s productivity through motivational communication and hard work rewards.

Similarly, effective leaders influence integrity within the team, and therefore employees can imitate their boss by adopting good ethical behavior that promotes the organization's goals. Consequently, effective leaders are useful in creating future leaders through coaching and mentoring the juniors through the transfer of managerial skills and critical business technologies (Roberts & Westville, 2008). Effective leaderships build a brand reputation as well as stimulating innovation and Creativity.

On the same token, effective leadership is associated with disadvantages such as failure to seek juniors' assistance in matters management of the organization. Either, effective leadership is related to low task performance because they take much of their time communicating with the employees. Similarly, effective leaders promote a clash of personalities because not all the employees will agree with some decisions of their managers, resulting in the conflict between the leader and the juniors (Gaffney, Rast III, & Hogg, 2018). Eventually, effective leadership is associated with unidirectional strategy and decision making, which could be risky at times, mainly if the leader never did a comprehensive consultation on the policy (Constanta, & Constantin, 2013).

Therefore, an effective leader should embrace diversity and inclusivity of ideas in making some of the significant decisions about the organization. This could be realized by accepting varied opinions from different stakeholders and employees of the organization. Either, a leader should prioritize inclusivity and diversity right from the onset of its leadership by communicating it to the employees, supporting talent development, engaging customers, investing in performance management, and retaining the top talent employees. Eventually, inclusivity and diversity can be enhanced by focusing on more listening and showing empathy to others to make them feel valued. This is because every employee or junior requires a sense of belonging in an organization both emotionally and intellectually. Besides, leading by an example is crucial in promoting diversity because it creates a creating more friendly environment for team members since a leader will be ready to discuss challenges with the juniors and being attentive to cultural differences (Danowitz, & Tuitt, 2011). Concisely, effective leadership plays a significant role within the team and organization.
