Conceptual intergraded science is an interesting course since it covers a lot of topics simultaneously; hence the reader will gain different knowledge and skills after reading this book. This course covers both topics of science and non-sciences, such as chemistry, astronomy, physics, and earth science. It is surprising how one book could cover science and everyday life, which involves personal and direct. Integrated science deemphasizes jargon but emphasizes central ideas such as the relationship between velocity and mass, force and time, vector components, and Newton's law of motion.

Momentum is a concept that is surprising because it explains the reason why a moving car has more momentum than a moving ship. Since a ship has a large surface area, it is expected to have more momentum than a moving car with a small surface area to volume ratio. "By momentum, we mean inertia in motion, the product of the mass of an object and velocity" (Hewitt et al., 70). In other words, when the direction is the least factor when calculating momentum, the latter is calculated by the product of mass and speed. It is surprising how a truck in motion has a large momentum when it is downhill with no brakes compared to its momentum when it is at rest.

It is flabbergasting to learn that when a person pushes a car with twice force and time, the impulse and momentum that is impacted doubles. "Along sustained force produces more change in momentum than the same force applied briefly" (Hewitt et al., 70). In other words, time is a factor of momentum because when force is applied briefly in, for instance, a car, the momentum of the car will have small change unlike when force is applied for longer times, and the stalled car will have a large change in terms of momentum. Impulse is the product of quantity force and time interval.

It is unintuitive to grasp the concept of identifying the action and reaction of an object. "An object at rest tends to remain at rest: an object in motion tends to remain in motion at a constant speed along a straight-line path" (Hewitt et al., 61). This concept is the first law of Newton's laws, the law of inertia, which is hard to grasp and counterintuitive. The second law and third law are also surprising because they describe the force acting upon a body and the motion that is responsive to these forces. The second law states that force is a product of an object's mass and acceleration. The third law is about forces that are applied to the equal magnitude and opposite directions when two objects are interacting. "The process of determining the components of a vector is called the resolution" (Hewitt et al., 61). From this concept, it corrects to argue that vectors are resolved in vertical and horizontal components.

The most effective and efficient way to use a concept from an intergraded science course is through psychology. Integrated science is used in a counseling session of psychology, where the psychologist identifies and the relationship between scientific findings and the impact they have on an individual. Most psychologists use theory as a bridge that fills in the gap between science and practice. Therefore, when counseling, they identify the recent science changes and how they affect the lives of their clients hence finding a conclusion of the relationship between science and practice and the impact the two have on human lives. Hence, STEM is a curriculum integrated science concept which educates students on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines, hence becoming practical and efficient in everyday life.
