Moreover, recent advancement in wireless communication and wireless sensors technology has led to the design of cost-effective, relatively light, and intelligent medical sensor nodes. The nodes can carefully be planted in the human body and aid in significant monitoring of several crucial physiological problems. Moreover, the technology makes it possible to consolidate and integrate patient's data to make numerous solutions.

I used various databases to source for multiple peer-reviewed articles related to my research topic of interest. The databases include google scholar, google books, and wildcat. Nonetheless, the search terms that I used were "how patient sensor devices/wireless communication solutions enhance quality and safety standards in nursing." The search terms generated several articles, but I picked on the four since they contained more detailed information on how the integration of patient sensor devices/wireless communication solutions in nursing significantly leads to quality and safety standards improvement.

Moreira, F., Matos, D., Carvalho, V., & Soares, F. (2019, October). Design of a biomedical kit for bedridden patients: a conceptual approach. In IECON 2019-45th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (Vol. 1, pp. 6859-6865). IEEE. 10.1109/IECON.2019.8927741According to this article, the nursing quality and standard can immensely be improved by looking into the ambient assisted living context of the patient. Moreover, the bedridden patients will be attended to effectively through the design of a system that ensures adequate support through a medical care module. The medical care module is also operated by one health attendant, thus saving on costs.

Furthermore, this source explains that the system is flexible enough, and covers the safety, autonomy, and comfort of the bedridden patients. Also, the process of creating the medical care module takes into consideration the incorporation of various biomedical sensors. Collectively, these sensors aid in the tracking and record-keeping of the patient's life quality hence allowing for adjustments where possible.

Moreover, the module provides for a graphical platform that integrates the patient's current state of health with the biomedical sensors. Nonetheless, the graph plays a crucial role in indicating how and when various medical procedures should be done on the patient. This also takes into consideration the previous diagnosis and health records of the patient, which are readily available in the module.

This source is relevant to my research topic on how patient sensor devices/ wireless communication solutions enhance quality and health standards in nursing since it centers on a medical care module designed to improve the quality of bedridden patients through the incorporation of biomedical sensors. Also, this article makes good use of medical terms and is heavily cited, thus making it valid.

Onasanya, A., & Elshakankiri, M. (2019). Smart integrated IoT healthcare system for cancer care. Wireless Networks, 1-16. https://doi.org/10.1007/s11276-018-01932-1The development of the Internet of Things (I0T) has had a dramatic effect on the world's technology. This is related explicitly to interconnectivity, connectivity, and integration with various sensors, data devices, and applications. Given the interactive nature of the internet of things, it has been imperatively embraced in healthcare delivery, especially in improving the quality and safety standards in nursing.

In this article, the particular interest was in the cancer patients and how the cloud wireless communication solutions can be efficiently applied to improve the quality and safety standards in nursing of the patients. The adoption of business analytics in nursing of the cancer patients greatly helps in keeping close monitor of the patient's data and progress. Moreover, retrieving the data when required, is simple and fast hence saving on time and improving the quality of the nursing process.

Furthermore, the source advocates for the adoption of different frameworks to augment the internet of things solutions in communication at the healthcare facilities. Smart healthcare solutions for the nursing of cancer patients will ensure that they acquire essential cancer services. Consequently, the quality of life of the patients is greatly improved.

This source is highly authentic as it makes use of numerous concepts that are well researched. Nevertheless, the source is well cited and acknowledges the previous research carried on the same topic. This article is relevant to my research topic on how patient sensor devices/ wireless communication solutions improve the quality and safety standards in nursing since it focuses on the development of smart healthcare communication solutions for cancer patients.

Marques, G., & Pitarma, R. (2019, April). Promoting Health and Well-Being Using Wearable and Smartphone Technologies for Ambient Assisted Living Through the Internet of Things. In International Conference on Big Data and Networks Technologies (pp. 12-22). Springer, Cham. https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-030-23672-4_2Undoubtedly, ambient assisted living is a developing concept cutting across several disciplinary fields. It addressed crucial factors that collectively work towards improving the quality of life, particularly in occupational health and the environment of residence. Moreover, it is scientifically proven that poor health and low or no productivity is greatly linked to the bad quality of the indoor environment.

This article takes note of the various methods that can be used to improve the quality of nursing and safety standards of the patient's data while at home. This is relevant because most patients spend a good fraction of their indoors while receiving medical attention or recently discharged from the hospital. Thus, it is vital to monitor the living environment at home to identify problems that may arise in time and respond to them immediately.

The development of hardware data prototype mainly made up of data acquisition and the necessary application for consolidation of data aids in the monitoring process of the patients through the internet of things. Furthermore, the hardware provides for safe storage of the data collected during the monitoring process. The data can then be easily accessed and referred to by the nurses or any healthcare provider if the need arises.

This source is relevant to my research topic on how sensor devices/wireless communication solutions help in the improvement of quality and safety standards in nursing. This is because the article focuses on how sensor devices can be used to monitor the indoor environment related to a particular patient. Nonetheless, the article is credible since it bases its arguments on well researched and documented health informatics principles.

Potter, P., Allen, K., Constantinou, E., Klinkenberg, D., Malen, J., Norris, T., ... & Tymkew, H. H. (2016). Anatomy of inpatient falls: Examining fall events captured by depth-sensor technology. The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety, 42(5), 225-AP1. https://doi.org/10.1016/S1553-7250(16)42029-5The sensor technology provides a new way of monitoring and evaluating the movement of patients. Consequently, the technology is effective in detecting falls among patients in a nursing or healthcare facility. This allows for the automatic prompt alert to the healthcare providers in case any falling incidence occurs. Thus, improving the quality of nursing while also enhancing the safety standards within the nursing facility.

Furthermore, the information obtained from a proper analysis of the real fall incidents is very crucial in developing and trying various fall prevention concepts. Nonetheless, the nurses can learn about the nature of falls and determine their likelihood of occurrence. The information obtained can also be used to improve and ensure that the patients' environment is safe to minimize further injury to the patient in case of any unexpected fall.

According to this source, a pilot study was performed at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. The aim of the study was to asses the probability of the depth-sensor systems capturing fall incidents of the present inpatients. The installation of the depth sensors was done in two inpatient rooms with the highest cases of falls. The depth sensor covered numerous falls within the room, the falls were then analyzed and the factors contributing to the falls identified.

This source is relevant to my research topic on how sensor devices/wireless communication solutions can be used to improve the quality and safety standards in nursing. The article focuses on the adoption of depth sensors to monitor falls hence improving the quality of nursing and the safety standards at the same time. Nonetheless, the source is highly authentic as it incorporates numerous previous studies in the development of the concepts.

Conclusion

In conclusion, all four sources acknowledge emerging advances, particularly in wireless communication and wireless sensor networks in the healthcare sector. Moreover, the sources delve on the numerous merits associated with the adoption of such technology, specifically in revolutionizing the monitoring process in nursing facilities. Also, different organizational factors may hinder or promote the adoption of such technology. For instance, a nursing facility that values privacy may choose not to implement wireless sensor networks. However, the use of wireless communication and wireless sensor networks within a nursing facility is justified as the potential advantages outways the disadvantages.
