Human Nature Essay: Procreation and Morality

Each with his/her human nature, however, the term human nature could be having different meanings such as a way that people think, act or sometimes feel. It is challenging to have a human nature that applies and exists to every human being on this planet because they are not duplicates of each other and therefore it is justified for one to hate humanity without hating the human species on this earth. At least every human being hates a particular individual or a group of them because of what that individual or the group of individuals might have done such as murder or abduction. I would hate someone for killing or eliminating another individual,but that does not justify me to hate every species for a mistake some of them committed. Therefore procreation is not immoral as David Benatar suggests because it has great possibilities of resulting in both good and evil.

Human beings are the reasons for all the problems that human beings are experiencing in this world,and therefore human beings should stop procreating. They have destroyed the environment and wars that end up killing people. This is enough reason to support anti-natalism because human beings have turned out to be very destructive. However, I disagree with the fact that human beings are destructive because life is not all about suffering due to procreation and it should not get blamed. There is a possibility that some people suffer as a result of their own mistakes especially diseases caused as a result of pollution, the human race is the cause of the massive environmental pollution. There are serious consequence caused due to that; therefore when people die or become sick, they end up blaming others for that. The misanthropists should first know the part they play in destroying or making the world a better place. Procreation is part of human life,and it ensures that there is continuity of human race and without them, there would be no human to give health care and provide important services.

The second argument is that stating everyone as bad is not logical given that the world is still full of good people in it and that they should think about human beings as supreme and intellects. Each is born with a reason,and if they go through suffering in their life, procreation should not be brought to blame. Suffering and pain in human beings are normal,andeveryone is destined to undergo that; some things are inevitable. There is some satisfaction that human beings get when they rare children such as escaping isolation and loneliness because to them they are a source of happiness. It is also wrong to suggest that human beings should adopt an animal as a replacement of a human being because any other species cannot replace human beings because of the role they play and the satisfaction they bring upon us. Adoption is not also a solution to this problem of procreation because it is still a human being and have a chance to be equally evil and therefore it is not a justification. Adoption does not bring satisfaction to the human race because people prefer to bare their children and only a few people go for that idea.

Without human species, the planet cannot exist because even animals require human beings to survive as well as any other non-living things. The world will not be existing at all if the human species becomes extinct because despite them being evil they ensure the survival of any other species under the planet(Benatar & Wasserman, 2015). The misanthropists also miss a point that if it were not for human beings, they would not exist since their survival depends on other people because human beings discovered things such as advanced technology, medical care get offered by human beings and other things that are essential (Benatar & Wasserman, 2015). Therefore before deciding how evil human beings are, it is good to come up with the right arguments on why human beings should not exist by considering both the positive and the negative sides of their existence.

Ideologically thinking, telling human beings not to procreate because human beings are evil only increases human problems instead of solving them. This is through bringing isolation to human beings and removing the only source of distraction they have because some people value human beings and they would procreate to ensure the continuity of the human race. It is true that human beings can be very distractive and immoral, but it is also possible to change their human nature according to how they behave and how they think. There is still a possibility of civilized human beings existing and therefore if they give them a chance to prove them wrong then maybe there is a chance they will change their minds about what they think about human beings. Human beings have a chance and are capable of acting different to enable people to think differently about them,and if the misanthropist's continue to discourage procreation by terming it as evil and a source of human suffering them, there is likeliness to experience extinction of human race due to failure to continue with procreation.

Conclusion

In conclusion, procreation has only brought good things to life as opposed to what the misanthropist's thinks, this is because there is some satisfaction that human beings get when they rare children such as escaping isolation and loneliness because to them they are a source of happiness.Human beings are the best and most intelligent creatures and procreating them is not a mistake, this is because each is created differently from the other and hating a whole species of them includes the good people too.The human race is not obviously evil,and there is no need to have hatred towards the human race, it is normal to hate some individuals due to some evils things they have done to the planet or us, but hating the whole species of them for some mistakes some did is not a good reason. Procreation has many great benefits than the harm it would cause,and this justifies procreation morally.Without human species, the planet cannot exist because even animals require human beings to survive as well as any other non-living things, the world would not be existing at all if the human species becomes exact because despite them being evil they ensure the survival of any other species under the planet.
